Father's day cards

Can't believe it's the middle of June already, which means Father's day is Sunday! I got my cards made so i thought I'd share them with everyone. I'm also linking one of them up with the Lawnscaping challenge.

I water colored the background in different shades of blue . Used a decorative edge punch for the waves on the vellum. Layered my boat between them. Die cut the sun, added a few birds and embossed a couple of clouds and sentiment. ( The clouds are actually meant to be bushes, but ever since I first saw the image I saw a cloud) :) I didn't like the way the edges were looking with the watercolor paper and vellum so I decided to add some thick twine around the image to finish it off.

Here's my card:
Products used:
Lawn Fawn- Lets polka 6x6 paper, Stamps: Float my boat ( boat/ sentiment) and Into the woods (cloud), Dies (Spring showers)
Recollections: Detail white Embossing powder
Misc: Wave border punch, vellum paper, white cardstock, watercolor paper, thick twine.

I won't go into full detail on the other cards, but will still show them... The card up top is for my hubby. Then Alex wanted help making him a card so we came up with this:

I had seen someone from the Lawn Fawn DT make a shield and thought Alex would like to make one too! Daddy will love it!

This card is for my dad:

And the last card is for my Father in law. I've already posted this card, but thought I'd include it anyway since it is a fathers day card too! : )

Thanks for stopping by and a Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!!!

GG's Birthday card

I wanted to post this card earlier since it was finished, but made myself wait until I know that my grandma received it first. Didn't want to take the chance that she would see it online first, wouldn't want to ruin the surprise of seeing in person first.
I was just going to go for the inlay technique with the blue and yellow feathers, but decided to add the original feather cut out at the last minute. Having 3 looked better to me than just the 2. I used some paper from a 6x6 MME pack and die cut them using the Feathers from My Favorite Things. I distressed the edges using Pumice Stone and stamped the sentiment in Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. To finish it off added some Old paper distress stickles to the feathers and added some twine from Lawn Fawn. You can't really tell from the photo but the top feathers sides are slightly popped up.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!!!

May CCC card

I almost skipped the May Card Chain Challenge. When I first looked at it not a single idea for it popped in my head. I looked at it again just few days before the deadline and my card magically popped in my head. So off to my little corner I went and got to work. I was pretty pleased with the outcome and only hope that my recipient likes it too! I gotta say I was cutting it close to the deadline. Here is the card...

I chose to use the sketch and colors from the challenge options. Unlike like the last one where I used something from all the options!  I just used some bazzil cardstock that I had on hand. I used a background die from SimonSaysStamp on some vellum. Colored (Copics) and cut the Lawn Fawn images, adding some Wink of Stella glitter in clear over the top. The Hello is stickers that colored black with a copic. Then finished it off by adding some sequins and white stitching around the edges of the different cardstock pieces with a gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello card

Got a chance to play a little this weekend and got 2 cards done. One card I can't show you yet, but will in time. The card I am posting I am going to add to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

I used an Avery Elle die to die cut some white cardstock, (same white cardstock used for the card base). The stamp is by Simon says stamp and the sequins are from Lawn Fawn. After die cutting I took the little diamond shapes and colored them using distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Gathered Twigs. Once colored I put them back together using the "inlay" technique. Once everything was together I brushed some clear Wink of stella glitter over the pink and yellow and then add some gloss over the pink and brown.

Graduation card

The focus of the newest card was to make it a Graduation card. The only student I know that has a graduation coming up is my youngest son. He's graduating from pre-school this month! He's getting was to big already!!! I used the sketch from freshly made sketchs to start my creative process and will be linking my project to them as well. Here is there sketch...
Also I might add it to the Simon Says Stamp wednesday challenge. I'm trying my luck in a few different places! Here is the card I came up with...
Items used: Lawn Fawn- pattern papers, stamps and dies
Misc- copic makers, cardstock, white embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time...

Baseball Theme Card Challenge

In our little friendly challenge Lindsey decided that we should do a baseball theme card. She was pretty specific as to what it should include.. baseball, bat, and team colors. I easily chose the Cardinals, since that is the team some men in my family love! Not to mention they have a bat on the logo, so that took card of two items she called for. ;-)  For the balls I just punched a bunch of 1 1/4 inch circles and drew on the stitches. Since it doesn't have a sentiment on the front I'll probably use it as a Father's day card for my hubby or father-in-law. Here is what I came up with...

I thought it turned out pretty good, considering how long I struggled with the layout. I just kept moving the balls around until I thought it looked good. I was originally going to just do a ball shaped card, but someone else beat me to it. Oh well. Next challenge is a graduation theme card and I need to get started.

Thanks for droppin' by!
