I heart you

Another day and another post... wow two days in a row! Today's card is another Valentine's day card for my hubby, so I kept it simple no frills for him. This card is part of a twofer, the card I posted yesterday was the other I made with the same die cut panel from Simon Says stamp.

For today's card I took the hearts that were punched out of the panel and glued them in place. I colored one heart and adhered it with foam tape for a little dimension. The I and the U are die cut using Lawn Fawns Cole ABC's out of black cardstock and adhered to the hearts. I did add some glossy accents on the letters and heart.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Birthday Brew

Just a quick little post to share a card that I just finished this morning. When to boys are away this mom will play... in the craft room all day! ;-) I used Bubble Over stamps, dies and paper from Stampin' Up to created my card.

There are two bottle dies that coordinate with the stamps in the set, but they are  also the same size as the pattern paper. So I die cut two bottle from the pattern paper and die cut the slider label as well. I used the bubble die to emboss a few bubbles on the white layer.  Adhered my layers on the card base and stamped the inside to finish the card.

I will link this card to the following challenges:

ATSM #286- anything goes

For the Anything goes challenge I used some recent Stampin' Up items that I recently got. I started by stamping my flower image on the panel. Then stamped and embossed a lacy image from the set (it's hard to see) on the panel, before coloring the image. I embossed first so that colors would help show the texture. To color the image I used some markers on a stamp block and added the color with a watercolor brush, since I was looking for a muted color pallet.

Added some tone on tone stamping on the cardbase for some visual texture. Stamped and punched the sentiment, adhereing peices of a doily under it for a mat, before popping it up on the card with some foam adhesive. To finish the card I tied a little bow and glued it to the stems of the flowers.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks CAS challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

Happy Halloween panels

Stopping in with a quick post today to share a card that I adding to

and

challenge blogs. Here is my card...

I started my card by stamping the images on a panel. After I colored them, I cut the panel in four pieces and layered them on pattern paper. I used the same pattern paper to cover the card base and added my panels to a larger panel. Once everything was adhered I stamped my sentiment up the side.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!!!

Birthday Herd

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. I'm working this weekend but am trying to make the best of it when I'm off. For example I'm about to head to the movies with my teenage son, to see Avengers... finally! Yesterday I came home to an empty house and got to craft in silence, well not complete silence as I was crafting with mom on the phone! Skyping would be easier, but she doesn't have the best internet options out in the boonies. ;-)

I focused on making a card with the Addicted to CAS theme in mind.

Here is the card I made...

...and the inside...

I used a scrap that was laying on my desk and started stamping the critters. I've seen a card like this and can't remember who it was now, but wanted to make on similar. I did have to mask the animals just enough to stamp the barn. The rest is just Copic colored... I was trying to channel my inner Sandy Allnock (she is much better at it the art of copic backgrounds). Trimmed the panel and adhered it to the card base. Stamped the sentiment and that finished it up.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Bird

Hello all and Happy Mother's Day! I got to enjoy most of my day at work (boo), but the boss did buy us some donuts! Poor guy is surrounded by women, he is used to it though he has a house full. ;-) I am stopping by to share a card I made and am linking it too Addicted to CAS challenge blog.

I love these birds from Tim Holtz!
For the card I smushed some distress ink on my mat and sprayed it with water, then I layed the watercolor panel on top. Dry and repeat until I got the look I was going for. I then stamped the bird and sentiment, not having branch stamp to fit under him I drew one with a pen. Added some leaves and then layered the panels onto my card base.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Pastel Easter bunnies

Quick card to show you that I made today, using a little $1 stamp for the first that I got either last year. I'm trying to get some Easter cards done so that I can get them in the mail. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?

I have been wanting to use this stamp just so that I could add some little pom poms for the tails. I think it ended up looking so cute! I also decided to use some pattern paper to coordinate the bunnies with. I feel that I tend to struggle using a larger piece of pattern paper. I tend feel a little more comfortable with more "white" space. So I wasn't exactly loving this card as I put it together, but in the end I liked the turn out.

I used distress stain to color the doily. While that was drying I stamped and colored the bunnies with Copics. I heat embossed the Easter sentiment in yellow and stamped happy in white. Once the doily was dry I glued it and the pattern paper together and attached them to the card base. After I adhered the bunny panel to the gray embossed I glued them both to the base too. Last I used some glossy accents to attach their cute little pom pom tails.

Will post to the following Challenges:

Wish you were here...

Another quick card for Addicted to CAS I used vellum to make the window for the cut out. I wanted the background to be slightly muted so the arrow would stand out. Don't mind the hand my youngest wanted his hand be in the picture, I couldn't resist his sweet smile when he said please! :-)

Thanks for stopping by for another card! Have a great day!

Sunflower jar

Just a quick post for a card I made and plan to link to the Addicted to CAS blog.

I had another challenge in mind when I made this card, it inspired the flowers, the checkered area and the two tone jar. I had seen a blogger not to long ago color vellum using distress ink and had been wanted to try it for myself. So when I saw the yellow and black glass I though it was a good time to try it. I did give it a little time to dry before putting the card together.

I thought it turned out pretty neat. I like how you can still see through the vellum like it's tinted glass.

Hello Coffee!

Hello again! Second post today. These cards were made using the October card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I made these cards with the challenge my friends and I give each other every 2 weeks, to help each other to keep using our stash! Some time I just need the extra nudge... Our them this time around is to make at least 2 cards with 1 stamp set. I thought the first card might work with Addicted to CAS challenge theme...

Card #1

I used distress ink with the splatter stencil from Tim Holtz for my coffee rings. Although it does slightly make me think of a cow print, but I think that is mostly because of the color choice! I add some of the sequins included in the kit and a little bit of brown glitter glue from Recollections on the coffee.

Card number #2...

On this card I just used copics to color in my mugs and coffee, then added some glossy accents to make the coffee look liquidy (I know it's not a real word, but I'm using it anyway!) I think this is my favorite of the two, mostly because these are the colors I'm drawn to more.

Thank for stopping by!

Triangle sending love card

Second card today. I feel I'm on a roll today! This card is going to be added to the Addicted to CAS

and Moxie Fab

blogs. You'll see I really got a lot of the inspiration from the photo. Which was easy to do since I love geometric patterns.

I used a scrap piece of paper I had lying around and stamped my triangles (Close to my heart) in four colors using memento dew drops. (Lady bug, Dandelion, Pear Tart and Bahama Blue) Then I die cut the word Love (Sizzix/ Stampin'up) out of another scrap and colored black using a copic. Once the word was on the card I stamped "sending" in black. Then I used clear wink of stella over the die cut word and covered it with Glossy Accents. Once the Glossy Accents were dry attached my card front to the base.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
