Mar SID- Flying by to say...

Hello and welcome to my post for Stick It Down's March card Sketch.

I decided I wanted to use some scraps from my scrap bin for my card. I found the hot air balloon paper and thought it was a perfect compliment to the Hero Arts set I picked up from a local store recently. I adhered the pattern papers to my card base. Using some Catherin Pooler inks to coordinate I stamped a hot air balloon, clouds and my sentiment to a panel of white cardstock to add as my top layer. Added a few sequins and gems to finish it off.

Using pattern paper helps to make a quick card and I just love the colors together!

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Mar SID

Hello everyone and welcome to my March card for Stick It Down sketch challenge! Here is a look at the card sketch for this month.

Here is my card using the sketch, I stayed true to the sketch this time using some die cut stars as my design down the sides of my main image. The main panel is stamped using a Catherine Pooler designs image from the March Club Canvo stamp set. I used markers to color the images and the background around the balloons.

Please don't forget to join us over at Stick It Down to play along. We also have two layout sketches if you want to play along with the scrapping teams! Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Feb SID- Stand Tall

Welcome to my card for February's Stick It Down sketch. Here is a look at the sketch...

Here is my take on the sketch. I used pattern stamps to create the side strips. Using the same colors I stamped the flamingo scene on a die cut oval. Inked up the edges for a little more definition from the cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you make with our February sketch. Don't forget we also have two sketches for scrapbook layouts if you scrap too!

SID Feb sketch- Hello

Hello everyone! Can't believe we are over halfway through Feb already! Here in IL we've had some crazy variances in our weather... almost like it's spring time, but colder. For example... valentines day was a sunny and low 50's, the next day was cloudy and 20. Don't get me work I love winter for the snow, but if there isn't snow around there is no reason for the frigid temps! ;-) So with that in mind I decided to take the sketch and give my card a warmer spring time feel.

I masked off a ray shape and stamped multiple floral images inside. Removed the tape and then stamped my large sentiment in black ink. I felt I needed a little more detail on the edges so I took a pen and added dash lines along the stamped area.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today. I look forward to seeing your projects on the Stick It Down blog

NOV JC challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Joy Clair blog! Love this months inspiration. I was drawn to the mug on the bottom right with the white on white look and the peppermints! I love to add a little candy cane to my hot cocoa so that is what I decided to base my card of off to fit the theme.

Image may contain: food and indoor

I picked some pattern papers that would fit the theme I was going for and used a sketch I found flipping through an old magazine that I have. I used an older Joy Clair set called Christmas Cocoa. I stamped my mug, snowflakes (with some masking) and marshmallows with Versamark and heat embossed it with Pearl embossing powder. I then stamped the candy cane with Rockin' Red and embossed with the same embossing powder.

I cut out the marshmallow and candy cane. I adhered all of my layers, adding the twine and attaching my cut elements to finish my card.

I hope you stop by the Joy Clair blog to see what my teammates created based on the inspiration photo and to play along for your chance to win! Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment or follow me for blog updates! Have a great day!

It's world card making day with Joy Clair!

Image may contain: text

It's world card making day and we are celebrating all day. This morning I was part of a hop sharing our crafty spaces and mine was shown in it's messy glory! This post is part of a project blog hop and with some special guests as well as the current team.

For the card I decided to mix some new and old stamps. I wanted to use the feathers from Dream Big so I started laying them on the card panel. I used all of the feathers from the set, but kept them all to one side. I used my Misti so I was able to layer the colors of yellow, orange and red so they faded into each other. I then layered the panel on colored cardstock. Stamped the birthday from Hello Sentiments, while the rest of the sentiment is from New Year New Me. Cut out the panel for my sentiment and layered it with black as well.

To finish my card I added some sequins and dots of Nuvo Drops.
Hope you are having a wonderfully creative day and enjoying all the blog hops and crafty posts! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Stick It Down- Sept sketch!

Here is Stick it Downs card sketch for September!

I decided to do a one layer card and try to keep the sketch. So I used two different colors...

The colors ended up being a little closer in tone than I intended, but I still liked the idea so I just went with it. I used a large background stamp to stamp half in blue and the other half in green. Then with the sentiment I did he same thing flipping which color went on the two halves of the stamp. Once the Sentiment was stamped, I then heat embossed it with clear powder and added some geometric shapes for a little more design.

You can see the variation in color a little better in the close up. Don't forget to stop by the SID blog and play along with the sketches. If cards aren't your thing there are two scrapbooking sketches to play with as well! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Birthday Circles

Today I'm posting my take on the our Sketch over at Stick it Down! This is such a fun sketch, I stayed pretty close to the original idea of the sketch, as it gave a perfect reason to use specific circle set from Catherine Pooler. I haven't used this set much since I've purchased it.

Here is my card...

Just had to pick some colors and I choose blues and green to keep it more masculine. Love all the fun and dimension on this one layer card!

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment or follow me for blog updates! Have a great day!

ASTM #303 Holiday

Today's card is a Holiday card for Addicted to Stamps and More's holiday theme challenge. To see what the rest of the DT has came up with this time check out the blog here!

The card was simple I knew I wanted to use some Catherine Pooler's Foundation Box (Retired, but I'll link what I can), but wasn't sure how I wanted to pull it together. I found a sketch I liked and rolled with it. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Love it when I start getting my Holiday cards going early!

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks Holiday challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!
