Mar SID- Flying by to say...

Hello and welcome to my post for Stick It Down's March card Sketch.

I decided I wanted to use some scraps from my scrap bin for my card. I found the hot air balloon paper and thought it was a perfect compliment to the Hero Arts set I picked up from a local store recently. I adhered the pattern papers to my card base. Using some Catherin Pooler inks to coordinate I stamped a hot air balloon, clouds and my sentiment to a panel of white cardstock to add as my top layer. Added a few sequins and gems to finish it off.

Using pattern paper helps to make a quick card and I just love the colors together!

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A java valentine!

Hello everyone! Today I'm posting a valentine card I made and sent to my folks in TX and adding to some challenges (it's been a hot minute since I've played along). I'm hoping its the start of more now that I'm settling into a new job. (Fingers crossed I stay active with creating and sharing!) Anywho... my folks and I are some coffee drinkers, so thought this would be a cute one for them! Also this the first card I've shared that isn't for a design team in a long time.

I used distress oxide inks to create the blended background. The coffee cups colored to coordinate are from Lawn Fawn (Love You A Latte Stamps & Dies). I used the chunky heart panel die from Simon Says stamp for the white layer and an older Hero Arts Die set for the sentiment and little black hearts. Covered the black hearts with glossy accents and added some sequins and gems to finish the card with a little a bling! I loved how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

SID JUNE- Hey Gullfriend

Hello all and welcome to my blog and card for Stick it Downs June challenge! Here is a look at our sketch for the month...

Here is my card that I did while skyping with a friend... which usually when I do that she gets three cards done and I get none finished! LOL. Not this time, this time I was the only one with a completed card! :-) I love the the little seagulls from Hero Arts. I got them last year, then didn't use them. I stamped them and added a little color with some copics, before using a circle punch to pop them up on the card.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

MLC- May

Welcome to May and our new month of  Merry Little Christmas challenge christmas blog. This month is as always anything goes!

This month I made for cards using the A and B sides of some pattern paper from the stash. I used the same layout for the card to pick and choose how the paper was going to be adhered down. The top of the card is actually folded back and stuck down with the pattern paper adhered on top. I then just added the sentiment on a die cut piece of white. They could be jazzed up a little more, but I choose to leave them clean and simple. This is a good way to use up some paper stash... if you are like me and have way more pattern paper then you need and keep buying more! ;-)

I hope you visit all my teammates to see what they created this month and join us on the blog for the challenge, can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

This card is start to using items that have be partially used and collecting dust. ;-)

Hope you join us this month, the challenge is as always anything goes as long as it's Christmas! See you over on the MLC blog! Here's to using up some stash! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!

NOV SID- Thanks

Hello and welcome the Stick it Down Nov Sketch!!!

I loved the ink drip look on the Sketch this month and new I wanted to use a set I got from Hero Arts a year or two ago. I thought it was perfect for the sketch and this time of year! Since the stamp set is a layered set I started by stamping the more solid letters using distress oxide inks and then spritzed them with water, letting the water help the color drip down. Once it was dry I took the outlined layer of the letters and stamped in a dark brown... as well as the smaller parts sentiments. I then trimmed my sentiment panel and adhered it to my card base. Love the look and the Thanks take the stage on my card so to speak. ;-)

Hope you play along with us this month and every month over at SID, we have 3 new sketches every month... 2 for scrappers and 1 for cardmakers! I can't wait to see you take on the sketches this month. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MLC Aug- Winter Hats

Hello everyone! Can you believe it's August already!!! We are getting close to Christmas, I really need to get some more cards going. Speaking of I kept my card pretty clean and simple (one of my fave styles). I took an old set that I got at Michaels when I first start seriously stamping... (you know instead the occasional rendezvous) about 9 years ago, and stamped the hat image from it down the side of my card. I then colored them in using Copics. Once the coloring was done, I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts). I really love a CAS card especially to showcase coloring.

Thank you for stopping by and make sure to check out the other projects and play along over at MLC blog! Hope you all have a wonderful day and month!

MLC #12- Jul

Hello everyone! Today is the first of July! We are halfway through the year and it's time for another card challenge with Merry Little Christmas!

This month I used a stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I love that this set has a mix of sentiments with little images and the dies for both all in one. These are some of the best sets. For the card I die cut part of the sentiment and stamped the rest above it once it was adhered to the card. Then added the holly leaves to the side. Instead of using the berry stamp I added some bling, thought that felt a little more festive. Then to finish the card I adhered the cardstock, pattern paper and focal panel unto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great month! Hope to see you play along with us at MLC!!!

Image may contain: text that says 'MLC #11 June Anything Christmas Goes'

Hello all, I'm here with a card for the June Merry little Christmas challenge! As always it's anything goes! I decided to go clean and simple... with is one of  my favorite styles! I just use some distress oxide to create an area of color to layer my die cut on. I popped the die cut on the card base and added my sentiment just below.

Be sure to check out what my teammates of created this month on the blog here and don't forget to play along with the challenge. We always love to see what you all create!

SID Apr sketch - Pixie dust

Here is the April card sketch for Stick It Down! Don't forget to check out the blog to see the other creations, not to mention the sketches for scrapping!

I changed it up a little by keep the sentiment box a little smaller and using the background area for a bigger image. I was a little out of my comfort zone using so much pink and feel it may have thrown me off a bit. As an after thought I probably should have flipped the card around so that she was blowing the fairy dust off of the card... o'well. ;-)

ATSM #329- CAS

Today is I have a Clean and simple card to share with  you for Addicted to Stamps and More! Be sure to stop by the blog to see the other designers inspiration and to play along!

I used a succulent stamp from Hero arts as well as a sentiment to create simple card. I just love a pop of color on a mostly white card! I stamped my image and used the coordinating die to cut it out of my panel. Then I trimmed down the panel so that it wasn't as wide as the image and adhered it to the cardbase. I stamped my sentiment and popped my colored image in place with foam tape for added dimension.

I'm also adding this to CAS Mix It Up challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SID Feb sketch- Hello

Hello everyone! Can't believe we are over halfway through Feb already! Here in IL we've had some crazy variances in our weather... almost like it's spring time, but colder. For example... valentines day was a sunny and low 50's, the next day was cloudy and 20. Don't get me work I love winter for the snow, but if there isn't snow around there is no reason for the frigid temps! ;-) So with that in mind I decided to take the sketch and give my card a warmer spring time feel.

I masked off a ray shape and stamped multiple floral images inside. Removed the tape and then stamped my large sentiment in black ink. I felt I needed a little more detail on the edges so I took a pen and added dash lines along the stamped area.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today. I look forward to seeing your projects on the Stick It Down blog

NOV JC challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Joy Clair blog! Love this months inspiration. I was drawn to the mug on the bottom right with the white on white look and the peppermints! I love to add a little candy cane to my hot cocoa so that is what I decided to base my card of off to fit the theme.

Image may contain: food and indoor

I picked some pattern papers that would fit the theme I was going for and used a sketch I found flipping through an old magazine that I have. I used an older Joy Clair set called Christmas Cocoa. I stamped my mug, snowflakes (with some masking) and marshmallows with Versamark and heat embossed it with Pearl embossing powder. I then stamped the candy cane with Rockin' Red and embossed with the same embossing powder.

I cut out the marshmallow and candy cane. I adhered all of my layers, adding the twine and attaching my cut elements to finish my card.

I hope you stop by the Joy Clair blog to see what my teammates created based on the inspiration photo and to play along for your chance to win! Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment or follow me for blog updates! Have a great day!

ATSM #299- CAS

Today's card is for Addicted to Stamps and More, we are working on Clean and Simple. My card is a little more busy than my usual clean and simple, but I included it for this challenge since it was pretty simple to make. I used my MISTI to stamp everything, except for the image (it's a wood stamp). I made 10 of these... you can see some of the others peeking out from the bottom of the top card.  They are a going away gift for my folks who are moving back to Texas, I thought they could use them to send their new address. Before adhering the panels to the cardbase, I added some color with Copics keeping the coloring simple.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks CAS challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

Joy Clair- April challenge

It's the first of the month, which means a new challenge on the Joy Clair blog. Be sure to stop by the blog to see all the inspiration from the team and to play along for a chance to win the prize!  Below is the inspiration photo. I just loved the colors and all the tea cups!
Image may contain: food

I started stamping the mugs from Christmas Coffee, using a light blue ink to stamp the mug outline and colored them with copics. The patterned mug was stamped in two shades of blue on a seperate sheet and then cut out. I stamped the steam for the pattern mug in gray ink and stamped off for the lighter versions.

To finish the card I adhered the pattern mug with foam tape, added the sentiment from Christmas Cocoa and used copics to create shadowing under the mugs.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment or follow me for blog updates! Have a great day!
