FEB SID- Glittery clovers

Hello all and welcome to my card and post for Stick it Downs Feb sketch. I like the repeat pattern on the sketch and it could be used with so many different shapes. I was going to do hearts, but had made something like it that I done a while back and didn't want to repeat it, I'll link them here and here if you are interested.

I decided to pull out a Simon Says Stamp stencil with shamrocks that I got last year. I started by blending some oxide ink on the card panel, then used some glitter gel over it for the sparkle. For the back panel I ran my VersaMark pad across an embossing folder, before running it through my machine with piece of dark green cardstock. Once it was embossed I brushed on some Perfect Pearls in gold. I layered the little panel on more of the dark green card stock before adhering it to the embossed panel. Added them to a card base and called it done.

I couldn't find a sentiment I liked. I even was going to just die cut some letters that said lucky, but I didn't think the fonts I had worked with it... so, I just decided to leave it blank

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

DEC SID- Joy

Hello and welcome to my card for Stick It Downs December card sketch.

I enjoyed this sketch and could be many ways. I started by using a background stamp and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. To start my stripes I used some painters tape to mask of the white area. Using some Rustic Wilderness distress oxide I colored the bottom corner, then used the same ink to color the greenery on the top corner. For the red berries I colored them with Barn Door and added some red stickles over the larger berries. To create more of the stipes I added some red glitter washi. Added my die cut sentiment and called it done! I'm pleased how it turned out and may need to make another.

May SID- Happy Mothers Day

Hello welcome to May and to my post for Stick It Downs May sketch challenge!

I stayed pretty true to the sketch this month, playing with some alcohol inks and ink remover. It leaves a little ghosting of the stamped image on the alcohol ink. Playing with the ink was fun, but I think I still have some practicing to do to get the look I'm looking for!

MAR SID- Happy Birthday

Hello all welcome to my post for Stick It Downs March card sketch! Have you played along yet? If not I encourage to play along, it's fun to see how everyone uses the sketches every month!

For my card I used the sketch basics, I thought about adding something to it like the butterfly in the sketch, but changed my mind after using the Stickles glitter gel. I ended up not want to cover all the fun gold sparkles and didn't want to do too much to since the card is from my youngest boy. He's my St. Patrick's day boy and loves anything St. Pats for his birthday, so I know he'll forgive me for using glitter!

Here is a closer look at all the pretty sparkle, I had to impulsively get all the gels when they came out last year and this is the first time I've used any of them. Gotta say I LOVE them!

ATSM #315- photo inspiration

Today I have a post for Addicted to Stamps and More and its time for our Photo Inspired Challenge.

I mostly chose the colors as a starting point for my inspired card. I like the look of yellow black and white together. I made a Halloween theme since I'm in the mood for it and its only a week away!

Here is a closer look at my glittered house and the dimension of the layered die cuts that I stacked slightly of center.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks Photo Inspired challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

Fall-ing in love event with Joy Clair

Fall
Hello all and welcome to a special event with Joy Clair, Fall-ing in Love! We are all sharing projects to celebrate fall. I used the new sets Thankful and Blessed and Falling Leaves background

I started by making my background... which was maybe a not so succcessful attempt at an Alcohol ink background. ( I need more practice!) I so love the look the of the orange and yellow for a fall back ground. I decided to use some Thermoweb foil to dab onto the somewhat wet areas to get the foil to stick for green spots. After that I inked the Falling leaves background in my misti and stamped it on the background.

Next I stamped and image from the Thankful and Blessed set onto some vellum. Since I used VersaFine I made sure to heat set the image so that I wouldn't smear it. My next step was to "color" in parts of the image using my stylus. For the flowers I colored the petals heavily to make them white. Then for the pumpkin I used a lighter hand to add some texture and shading.

Next I stamped the sentiment... it's not pretty in the picture but I left it in to show you what it looked like before I "fixed" it. I used the same ink for the sentiment as I had for the image, the major difference is I didn't heat set it. I honestly didn't think about it, I stamped it after I adhered the vellum to the background and left it alone while I went to work. Came home to this mess... DOH!

I attempted fixing it by stamping over it with VersaMark (luckily the sentiment was still in the Misti!) and heat embossing with white powder. I covered most of the smudging creating a slight shadow effect behind the embossing. Layered my panel first with some white cardstock before adding it to an orange cardbase.

Coffee lover blog hop- Coffee Anytime

Image may contain: text
Today is the start for the Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop! I'm so excited to be playing along with Joy Clair, be sure to stop by the  Joy Clair blog to sweet what my teamies made to play along! For my project I was inspired by bright seasonal colors as well as butterflies and flowers! I decided to create an art journal page in appreciation that I love my coffee anytime! ;-) This could be cute to do again to show all for seasons.

I used distress inks to color the back ground and spritzed with water. I then added some  beans (stamp) and stenciled on the coffee rings. I stamped the cup images on some coordinating pattern paper and fussy cut them. I then colored in the coffee with a copic and added glossy accents over it. I die cut two arrows from vellum to create the hour and minute hands, then glued them to the center.

Hope you get inspired by any of the stops along the blog and play along. The hop always has wonderful sponsors and it's fun to play along! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
