OCT SID- Gnome I'm here for the candy

Hello all and welcome to my card for the October card sketch for Stick It Down! This is fun sketch and I can see me using it again with dies, stencils and or more pattern papers for other seasons. Also if you've ever thought about being on sketch design team we are having DT call, check out the detials here!

For this months card I started with an image that I had previously watercolored and then found a pattern paper I wanted to use with it. Loved the various words and colors on this pattern paper (Recollections) that has been in my stash for quite a while! I then took some water color paper that had been cut the same size as my card front and tore it to create the design of the sketch and distressed with some black soot. When the paper pieces were adhered to the the card base I use the black soot to distress all the edges and stamped my sentiment.

I then added the gnome with an action wobble so that he is popped up and wobbles for more fun. Reminds me of the old Weeble toys.... you know they wobble but don't fall down. ;-) I added some nuvo drops and a couple of clear adhesive stars that I colored with copics to coordinate to finish the card.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

SEPT SID- Witch way is the candy

Hello and welcome to my September Stick It Down sketch post! We have another great sketch from Mandi and I couldn't help making 2 cards with the sketch.

For my first card I went with a Halloween card using MFT's Witch way is the Candy set. I just love how cute she is and the images that come with set. I started by making my candy corn background with layer stencil from Photoplay. Used a rectangle frame die from MFT to create a layered look. Once the layers were on the card base I added some Distress Mica spray to add some splatter and shimmer (love that it does both). I then stamped the images, I almost left her black and white but decided she needed a little more color, so I colored her with only the colors already on the card. I didn't want to add more colors so left some areas black and white.

For card two, much of the process was the same. I used the same rectangle dies, but used a Lawn Fawn stencil and snowflake die to make a Christmas card. Layered everything together and added some shimmer to my die cut snowflake.

Aug SID - Flying by to say hi!

Hello and welcome to August and Stick It Downs card sketch for the month!

I stayed true to the sketch to make a masculine style card for my dad. The sketch was a great way to use up some of my 6x6 paper out of the tons of packs I have! These weren't all from same pack, but they worked well together and it felt good using some by mixing and matching. I stamped and fussy cut out the paper airplanes (Lawn Fawn), adding a little shading with Copics. Then I decided to add some stars to go with the star pattern paper I used as the panel base. So I used Copics to color the stars to match.

AUG SID- summertime

Hello all and welcome to my card for Stick It Downs August card Sketch. Aug... wow can't believe we are already over halfway through 2021, I swear the years get shorter and shorter! ;-) Here is a look at our card sketch this month...

For my card I decided to stencil the decor across the background. I wanted to angle it a little more like the sketch, but my stencil (MFT) wasn't wide enough for that. I still like the look of the various distress ink in blues created. I used the summer time die (SSS) for the sentiment and then just added some sequins and stars for sparkle and a little more color.

Edited to add:

A second card I made using the same sketch, this time I used Arteza metallic water colors for the background with a Simon Says Stamp Die cut sentiment for the focal point on the card. Love the shimmer the metallic water color added to the back ground! I will be adding this to the Die Cut Diva's Challenge blog... it's been too long since I've played along with another challenge.

FEB

Hello all and welcome to Feb and our newest Challenge! Here is our fun sketch for this month...

I pulled out an older paper pad for my card. I'm working on finishing the pad... only a few sheets left. The heart I had was a little bigger, but I was ok with that since everything else was to small in my opinion. I used a larger sentiment strip to balance the heart and think they work together nicely. Added some sparkles and called it done!

Jan SID 2021

Hello and welcome to Stick IT Down's first challenge of 2021!

I turned my card sideway compared to the Sketch, and that's because the cardstock and paper we pre cut for a project. I ended up wanting to use them for this sketch and thought it looked good horizontal, so I went with it! The ribbon, cardstock and paper are from Stampin' up, except for the banner. The big hello die is from Avery Elle, and I love it! It was one of my first die cut words and is one of my favorites still!
