DEC SID- Joy

Hello and welcome to my card for Stick It Downs December card sketch.

I enjoyed this sketch and could be many ways. I started by using a background stamp and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. To start my stripes I used some painters tape to mask of the white area. Using some Rustic Wilderness distress oxide I colored the bottom corner, then used the same ink to color the greenery on the top corner. For the red berries I colored them with Barn Door and added some red stickles over the larger berries. To create more of the stipes I added some red glitter washi. Added my die cut sentiment and called it done! I'm pleased how it turned out and may need to make another.

NOV SID- Christmas Scotties

Hello and welcome to Novembers Stick it down  card sketch! I don't know about you but I can't believe we are already half way through November, Christmas is right around the corner and I'm not ready! This card will help with my not being ready though. ;-)

For this card I used the Christmas Scotties stamp and punch set from Stampin' up. The paper is also from Stampin' Up, but it's an older paper pack. I stamped the same pup 3 times and stamped the bow twice. I wanted the middle image to have something different on it's neck, so tied some ribbon around like a little scarf.

OCT SID- Gnome I'm here for the candy

Hello all and welcome to my card for the October card sketch for Stick It Down! This is fun sketch and I can see me using it again with dies, stencils and or more pattern papers for other seasons. Also if you've ever thought about being on sketch design team we are having DT call, check out the detials here!

For this months card I started with an image that I had previously watercolored and then found a pattern paper I wanted to use with it. Loved the various words and colors on this pattern paper (Recollections) that has been in my stash for quite a while! I then took some water color paper that had been cut the same size as my card front and tore it to create the design of the sketch and distressed with some black soot. When the paper pieces were adhered to the the card base I use the black soot to distress all the edges and stamped my sentiment.

I then added the gnome with an action wobble so that he is popped up and wobbles for more fun. Reminds me of the old Weeble toys.... you know they wobble but don't fall down. ;-) I added some nuvo drops and a couple of clear adhesive stars that I colored with copics to coordinate to finish the card.

SEPT SID- Witch way is the candy

Hello and welcome to my September Stick It Down sketch post! We have another great sketch from Mandi and I couldn't help making 2 cards with the sketch.

For my first card I went with a Halloween card using MFT's Witch way is the Candy set. I just love how cute she is and the images that come with set. I started by making my candy corn background with layer stencil from Photoplay. Used a rectangle frame die from MFT to create a layered look. Once the layers were on the card base I added some Distress Mica spray to add some splatter and shimmer (love that it does both). I then stamped the images, I almost left her black and white but decided she needed a little more color, so I colored her with only the colors already on the card. I didn't want to add more colors so left some areas black and white.

For card two, much of the process was the same. I used the same rectangle dies, but used a Lawn Fawn stencil and snowflake die to make a Christmas card. Layered everything together and added some shimmer to my die cut snowflake.

Aug SID - Flying by to say hi!

Hello and welcome to August and Stick It Downs card sketch for the month!

I stayed true to the sketch to make a masculine style card for my dad. The sketch was a great way to use up some of my 6x6 paper out of the tons of packs I have! These weren't all from same pack, but they worked well together and it felt good using some by mixing and matching. I stamped and fussy cut out the paper airplanes (Lawn Fawn), adding a little shading with Copics. Then I decided to add some stars to go with the star pattern paper I used as the panel base. So I used Copics to color the stars to match.

July SID- Sunshine and Rainbows

Hello all and welcome to my post for the June card sketch from Stick It Down! It's summer, my kids are out of school and enjoying the break! I'm enjoying not running them around as much for school activities. :-)

I've had this soft rainbow watercolored background on my desk for sometime now and when I saw the sketch this month I thought it would be a perfect background. I die cut a sun using a stitched curve die out of yellow paper and added some distress ink to the deepen the color. Before gluing it down I traced the curve and heat embossed some rays for the sun. I then sprayed some shimmer spray on the panel before adhering it to the glitter panel and card base. Added my sentiment with a border of black cardstock and a little bit of vellum as well with some foam tape for a tad bit of dimension.

JUN SID- hats off to you!

Hello all and welcome to my post for the June card sketch from Stick It Down! I can't believe it is summer time already, and there has already been a couple of days that I wished we had a pool to cool down in!

Loved this sketch for the layered look and thought it would be great to use as a graduation card.... it is that time of year after all and I know a few grads. I kept the card pretty neutral as I wasn't sure of the school colors. I tend to like to use them if I know them, but like the basic black and white too it can be used for anyone!

I stamped the cap in different directions to create my own pattern paper. I did stamp an extra to color and die cut because I thought it would be nice to add a colored one next to the sentiment. Below is a closer look at the hat and the foil cardstock used.

Feb SID - Nuts about you

Hello and welcome to Stick It downs February card sketch! Hope you are inspired by the sketch or one of my fellow design team members and join us!

For my card I didn't stray from the sketch, but did make it a standard A2 size, since I was mailing it to my in laws for Valentine's day. The panel was a watercolor image I had in my stash, that I colored with watercolors and a few metallic watercolors for a little shimmer. I layered the watercolor panel on some brown cardstock for a little pop of brown, before adding it to the card base with some pattern paper. Sprinkled on some sequins and gems to finish it.

Here is another picture so show the metallic watercolor areas a little better.

I heart you

Another day and another post... wow two days in a row! Today's card is another Valentine's day card for my hubby, so I kept it simple no frills for him. This card is part of a twofer, the card I posted yesterday was the other I made with the same die cut panel from Simon Says stamp.

For today's card I took the hearts that were punched out of the panel and glued them in place. I colored one heart and adhered it with foam tape for a little dimension. The I and the U are die cut using Lawn Fawns Cole ABC's out of black cardstock and adhered to the hearts. I did add some glossy accents on the letters and heart.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A java valentine!

Hello everyone! Today I'm posting a valentine card I made and sent to my folks in TX and adding to some challenges (it's been a hot minute since I've played along). I'm hoping its the start of more now that I'm settling into a new job. (Fingers crossed I stay active with creating and sharing!) Anywho... my folks and I are some coffee drinkers, so thought this would be a cute one for them! Also this the first card I've shared that isn't for a design team in a long time.

I used distress oxide inks to create the blended background. The coffee cups colored to coordinate are from Lawn Fawn (Love You A Latte Stamps & Dies). I used the chunky heart panel die from Simon Says stamp for the white layer and an older Hero Arts Die set for the sentiment and little black hearts. Covered the black hearts with glossy accents and added some sequins and gems to finish the card with a little a bling! I loved how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
