SEPT SID- Witch way is the candy

Hello and welcome to my September Stick It Down sketch post! We have another great sketch from Mandi and I couldn't help making 2 cards with the sketch.

For my first card I went with a Halloween card using MFT's Witch way is the Candy set. I just love how cute she is and the images that come with set. I started by making my candy corn background with layer stencil from Photoplay. Used a rectangle frame die from MFT to create a layered look. Once the layers were on the card base I added some Distress Mica spray to add some splatter and shimmer (love that it does both). I then stamped the images, I almost left her black and white but decided she needed a little more color, so I colored her with only the colors already on the card. I didn't want to add more colors so left some areas black and white.

For card two, much of the process was the same. I used the same rectangle dies, but used a Lawn Fawn stencil and snowflake die to make a Christmas card. Layered everything together and added some shimmer to my die cut snowflake.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Aug SID - Flying by to say hi!

Hello and welcome to August and Stick It Downs card sketch for the month!

I stayed true to the sketch to make a masculine style card for my dad. The sketch was a great way to use up some of my 6x6 paper out of the tons of packs I have! These weren't all from same pack, but they worked well together and it felt good using some by mixing and matching. I stamped and fussy cut out the paper airplanes (Lawn Fawn), adding a little shading with Copics. Then I decided to add some stars to go with the star pattern paper I used as the panel base. So I used Copics to color the stars to match.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I heart you

Another day and another post... wow two days in a row! Today's card is another Valentine's day card for my hubby, so I kept it simple no frills for him. This card is part of a twofer, the card I posted yesterday was the other I made with the same die cut panel from Simon Says stamp.

For today's card I took the hearts that were punched out of the panel and glued them in place. I colored one heart and adhered it with foam tape for a little dimension. The I and the U are die cut using Lawn Fawns Cole ABC's out of black cardstock and adhered to the hearts. I did add some glossy accents on the letters and heart.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SID JUNE- Hey Gullfriend

Hello all and welcome to my blog and card for Stick it Downs June challenge! Here is a look at our sketch for the month...

Here is my card that I did while skyping with a friend... which usually when I do that she gets three cards done and I get none finished! LOL. Not this time, this time I was the only one with a completed card! :-) I love the the little seagulls from Hero Arts. I got them last year, then didn't use them. I stamped them and added a little color with some copics, before using a circle punch to pop them up on the card.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

MLC- OCT Noel Wreath

Welcome to Oct and my card for Merry Little Christmas Challenge blog! I kept things pretty simple this month and created a wreath using a branch from a Christmas set. It isn't a perfect circle because I had to stamp it multiple times... I tried! Once the wreath was stamped I used a light green copic to give the leaves a little color and added some small bling for the berries. I stamped Noel in the center and added a simple twine bow to finish it.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see on the MLCC blog sharing what you make for Christmas this month! Have a great day!!!

MLC AUG- Sweet Christmas

Welcome to August with Merry Little Christmas! Here is my card for this month using a Sketch from an online stamp night with my Stampin' Up Demonstrator. Loved using an older DSP to layer for a fun card. I added a Gingerbread house to the front for my main element and colored it to coordinate with the paper.

Added some stick on pearls and some glitter pen over some elements on the house to finish off the card.

I hope you visit all my teammates to see what they created this month and join us on the blog for the challenge, can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Jun SID- Life's a beach

Hello crafty friends, it's time to share my card for June's Stick It Down Sketch. Here is a look at the sketch incase you haven't seen it yet.
Here is my card, I stayed pretty true to the sketch this time around, just moved my sentiment to the bottom portion of my main image. I just recently acquired an Avery Elle set that has been on my wish list since it was released and wanted to use it for this months card. I searched through my stash for some pattern paper and found an older Lawn Fawn pack that would be perfect. I layered the paper according to the sketch and added my colored die cut beach houses with some foam adhesive.

Mar SID

Hello everyone and welcome to my March card for Stick It Down sketch challenge! Here is a look at the card sketch for this month.

Here is my card using the sketch, I stayed true to the sketch this time using some die cut stars as my design down the sides of my main image. The main panel is stamped using a Catherine Pooler designs image from the March Club Canvo stamp set. I used markers to color the images and the background around the balloons.

MLC Sept

Hello all! It's September, all ready... can you believe it?!!! I know I can't. I don't mind really, September is a great month and means fall is just around the corner... and it's my favorite season. It also means we are on a count down to Christmas and I still have plenty of cards to make to be ready for it!
It also means it's the start of a new challenge over at Merry Little Christmas... which is as always ANYTHING GOES!!!  As long as it's Christmas of course. This month I used one stamp and created two cards.

My first card I stamped and colored with copics before fussy cutting the image out and popping it up with some foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment under the image on the card panel and added it to a yellow card base. I know yellow isn't a Christmas color per say, but it did look good with the yellow color in the image.

Now for the second card, I stamped the image 3 times (once on the card base) and used a "light" hand with the coloring. I then fussy cut the layers and adhered them on top of the card base, for a slight raised look and a little more depth to the shadowy areas.

As always thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards ,  Can't wait to see what you create this month! Have a great day!!!

MLC Aug- Winter Hats

Hello everyone! Can you believe it's August already!!! We are getting close to Christmas, I really need to get some more cards going. Speaking of I kept my card pretty clean and simple (one of my fave styles). I took an old set that I got at Michaels when I first start seriously stamping... (you know instead the occasional rendezvous) about 9 years ago, and stamped the hat image from it down the side of my card. I then colored them in using Copics. Once the coloring was done, I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts). I really love a CAS card especially to showcase coloring.

Thank you for stopping by and make sure to check out the other projects and play along over at MLC blog! Hope you all have a wonderful day and month!

ATSM #341- Anything Goes

Hello everyone! Here is a card I made for Mother's Day which was celebrated Sunday in the States. I used the newer dino set from Lawn Fawn called Rawrsome. Love the adorable dinos  and sentiments in this set!

I stamped the volcano and hearts directly on the cardbase, while the dinos we stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then fussy cut. To add color to the images I just used copics and outlined the images. Love the subtle look of color it gives the images. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and embossed with white and cut them out to look like labels. I adhered the labels directly to the base and the dinos are popped up with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SID Apr sketch - Pixie dust

Here is the April card sketch for Stick It Down! Don't forget to check out the blog to see the other creations, not to mention the sketches for scrapping!

I changed it up a little by keep the sentiment box a little smaller and using the background area for a bigger image. I was a little out of my comfort zone using so much pink and feel it may have thrown me off a bit. As an after thought I probably should have flipped the card around so that she was blowing the fairy dust off of the card... o'well. ;-)

ATSM #329- CAS

Today is I have a Clean and simple card to share with  you for Addicted to Stamps and More! Be sure to stop by the blog to see the other designers inspiration and to play along!

I used a succulent stamp from Hero arts as well as a sentiment to create simple card. I just love a pop of color on a mostly white card! I stamped my image and used the coordinating die to cut it out of my panel. Then I trimmed down the panel so that it wasn't as wide as the image and adhered it to the cardbase. I stamped my sentiment and popped my colored image in place with foam tape for added dimension.

I'm also adding this to CAS Mix It Up challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Joy Clair Mardi Gras hop

Today we are showcasing some Mardi Gras projects over a Joy Clair! Everyone made anything but a card, be sure to stop by and check out the fun projects! I used the set Unashamed to create a fun little banner using the mask images.

I stamped and colored the images before fussy cutting them, since there was only 5 it didn't take long. I then tied them together and hung them between to shish kabob sticks. They would be super cute in a bigger flower pot or on top of a cake for decoration!

BLOG HOP LIST:

Have fun hopping along and have a great day!
