ATSM #315- photo inspiration

Today I have a post for Addicted to Stamps and More and its time for our Photo Inspired Challenge.

I mostly chose the colors as a starting point for my inspired card. I like the look of yellow black and white together. I made a Halloween theme since I'm in the mood for it and its only a week away!

Here is a closer look at my glittered house and the dimension of the layered die cuts that I stacked slightly of center.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks Photo Inspired challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

Fall-ing in love event with Joy Clair

Fall
Hello all and welcome to a special event with Joy Clair, Fall-ing in Love! We are all sharing projects to celebrate fall. I used the new sets Thankful and Blessed and Falling Leaves background

I started by making my background... which was maybe a not so succcessful attempt at an Alcohol ink background. ( I need more practice!) I so love the look the of the orange and yellow for a fall back ground. I decided to use some Thermoweb foil to dab onto the somewhat wet areas to get the foil to stick for green spots. After that I inked the Falling leaves background in my misti and stamped it on the background.

Next I stamped and image from the Thankful and Blessed set onto some vellum. Since I used VersaFine I made sure to heat set the image so that I wouldn't smear it. My next step was to "color" in parts of the image using my stylus. For the flowers I colored the petals heavily to make them white. Then for the pumpkin I used a lighter hand to add some texture and shading.

Next I stamped the sentiment... it's not pretty in the picture but I left it in to show you what it looked like before I "fixed" it. I used the same ink for the sentiment as I had for the image, the major difference is I didn't heat set it. I honestly didn't think about it, I stamped it after I adhered the vellum to the background and left it alone while I went to work. Came home to this mess... DOH!

I attempted fixing it by stamping over it with VersaMark (luckily the sentiment was still in the Misti!) and heat embossing with white powder. I covered most of the smudging creating a slight shadow effect behind the embossing. Layered my panel first with some white cardstock before adding it to an orange cardbase.

ATSM #313- holiday

Here is my card for the Holiday challenge from Addicted to Stamps and more!

I used a new Christmas stamp and die from Stampin' Up. I loved the image of the house and can see it being colored fully or partially like I did. I wanted to keep it simple so added some red to the ribbons and colored the greenery. I used some stickles to the lights for a little sparkle.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks Holidays challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

It's world card making day with Joy Clair!

Image may contain: text

It's world card making day and we are celebrating all day. This morning I was part of a hop sharing our crafty spaces and mine was shown in it's messy glory! This post is part of a project blog hop and with some special guests as well as the current team.

For the card I decided to mix some new and old stamps. I wanted to use the feathers from Dream Big so I started laying them on the card panel. I used all of the feathers from the set, but kept them all to one side. I used my Misti so I was able to layer the colors of yellow, orange and red so they faded into each other. I then layered the panel on colored cardstock. Stamped the birthday from Hello Sentiments, while the rest of the sentiment is from New Year New Me. Cut out the panel for my sentiment and layered it with black as well.

To finish my card I added some sequins and dots of Nuvo Drops.
Hope you are having a wonderfully creative day and enjoying all the blog hops and crafty posts! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

My messy crafty space

Good morning crafty friends, today we... myself and my Joy Clair teammates are sharing many posts for World Card Making Day! This is always a fun day with so much creativity shared in our crafty community... Love it! I don't always get to play along (at least not as much as I'd like), because it almost always falls on the Saturday we plan my middle sons birthday parties.

We are starting off the day by sharing our crafty spaces. I've never shared my space on my blog before... and to be honest I'm a little embarrassed with the state it's in currently. The following picture shows my desk area. I was excited to have a so much natural in my crafty space when we moved. I had a small corner in the family room of our old house.

We have recently started moving some things around in my space, primarily because my husband wanted a fish tank and a friend offered us his 125 gallon tank!!! It will be awesome once it's done. Until it's done this is all I'll currently share. Everything else is shoved in a corner and on shelves! ;-)

Hope you have a great day and have fun being creative today!

Today I'm using the new set The Reason! I just love this set!

Image may contain: text

To start my card I used 3 colors of distress Oxide inks to create an ombre background. Once I was done inking I took the main Image from The Reason and spritzed it with water and stamped on the background, then transferred the stamp and ink to a piece of scrap cardstock (ink lift technique). Just loved how the image turned out.

I die cut the image with a rectangle die, stamped the sentiment and set it aside. Once the ink on the background was dry enough, I took the Angels from the set and heat embossed them all over the panel.

I then popped the main image panel on the card using foam tape covering the ghosted image on the background. I decided to give the angels a light ghosted look by coloring them in with some water and lifting the color away.

For a final finishing touch I added some clear Wink of Stella over the angels as well for a little sparkle.

Merry Little Christmas #3

Image may contain: text
Good morning! Today I'm posting a card for MLC#3. As always our challenges are anything goes. I made a mini card today, that will be perfect to go with gift for a friend or teacher at Christmas.

I actually had a card that had a rectangle window cut out of it already. So I added some pattern paper from Stampin' Up behind it and layered a candle die cut across the front. I then added some color and shimmer with glitter pens.
Stop by the Merry Little Christmas blog to see the other DT creations for this month and to play along with the challenge.
