DEC SID- Winter Wishes

Here is the December card sketch for Stick It Down.

Instead of doing ribbon or strips of paper I decided on using layers of vellum to create the breaks from the sketch. I white embossed some snowflakes on the card before adding color with some Distress Oxide inks and spritzing the panel with some water. I then heat embossed my sentiment on some vellum, tearing the paper for some added texture to the edges. I then layered the vellum onto my card panel, before adhering it to my card base. To finish the card I added some wooden silver snowflakes to the front.

NOV SID- Thanks

Hello and welcome the Stick it Down Nov Sketch!!!

I loved the ink drip look on the Sketch this month and new I wanted to use a set I got from Hero Arts a year or two ago. I thought it was perfect for the sketch and this time of year! Since the stamp set is a layered set I started by stamping the more solid letters using distress oxide inks and then spritzed them with water, letting the water help the color drip down. Once it was dry I took the outlined layer of the letters and stamped in a dark brown... as well as the smaller parts sentiments. I then trimmed my sentiment panel and adhered it to my card base. Love the look and the Thanks take the stage on my card so to speak. ;-)

Hope you play along with us this month and every month over at SID, we have 3 new sketches every month... 2 for scrappers and 1 for cardmakers! I can't wait to see you take on the sketches this month. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

OCT SID- Thankful For You

Welcome to my post for Stick It Down's October card sketch. Head over to the blog to the DT's work for the card and both scrapbook sketches!

Here is my card for the sketch this month! I didn't change much for my take on the sketch this month, I know I wanted to make it a fall theme and thought the rings on the card reminded me of a wreath. I stamped various leaves in a large circle pattern using a few colors of ink on each one. I then stamped the leaves outlines and the sentiment. I used my sentiment towards the bottom corner instead of the top corner. To finish the card I added some sequins for a little sparkle on my "wreath".

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations over at the Stick it Down blog! Have a great day!

MLC Oct- Joy to the World

ETA: ever have a post done ready to go and forgot to hit publish!!! Welp that's exactly what I did, so if you were looking for my post from the blog, sorry I'm late with the details!

Hello and welcome to post for the Merry Little Christmas challenge blog October challenge. It is as always anything goes as long as it's Christmas!

The presents on the card are from an ephemera pack, that I colored and adhered to the music paper. I then adhered it to a layer of green cardstock before adding it to blue card base. I stamped and colored the wreath then added the sentiment, before fussy cutting it and popping it up on my card. To finish the card I added some sequins in a blue that coordinated with the cardbase.

Hope you plan to stop by the blog to see my teammates cards and to play along with us! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Sept SID

My take on the sketch this month! I had a scrap piece of paper that was a scrap of water color paper that had been colored. I decided to see how well it would die cut and loved the look of the  colored bats. I then glued the bats to some shiny black cardsotck.

Just love the way they turned out, I may try it again with other colors.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you over on the SID blog for this months challenge!

MLC Sept

Hello all! It's September, all ready... can you believe it?!!! I know I can't. I don't mind really, September is a great month and means fall is just around the corner... and it's my favorite season. It also means we are on a count down to Christmas and I still have plenty of cards to make to be ready for it!
It also means it's the start of a new challenge over at Merry Little Christmas... which is as always ANYTHING GOES!!!  As long as it's Christmas of course. This month I used one stamp and created two cards.

My first card I stamped and colored with copics before fussy cutting the image out and popping it up with some foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment under the image on the card panel and added it to a yellow card base. I know yellow isn't a Christmas color per say, but it did look good with the yellow color in the image.

Now for the second card, I stamped the image 3 times (once on the card base) and used a "light" hand with the coloring. I then fussy cut the layers and adhered them on top of the card base, for a slight raised look and a little more depth to the shadowy areas.

As always thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards ,  Can't wait to see what you create this month! Have a great day!!!

AUG SID- Noel

Today I'm sharing with you my card for our August Challenge, I can not believe we are already halfway through August and things have gotten busy for the family already.

For this months card I stuck pretty much with the sketch, my goal was to showcase some of the pretty bazzill cardstock with the gold accents... love how pretty this paper is. I created a tag and heat embossed the sentiment in gold. Before adhering the tag on my card I added some twine with gold in it and tied a bow. To finish the card I added some clear dropletz for a slight "flare".

Don't forget to check out the blog to play along and see what the card team did with the card for the sketch! Can't wait to see what you create. Thanks for stopping by, see you next time!

MLC Aug- Winter Hats

Hello everyone! Can you believe it's August already!!! We are getting close to Christmas, I really need to get some more cards going. Speaking of I kept my card pretty clean and simple (one of my fave styles). I took an old set that I got at Michaels when I first start seriously stamping... (you know instead the occasional rendezvous) about 9 years ago, and stamped the hat image from it down the side of my card. I then colored them in using Copics. Once the coloring was done, I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts). I really love a CAS card especially to showcase coloring.

Thank you for stopping by and make sure to check out the other projects and play along over at MLC blog! Hope you all have a wonderful day and month!

July SID- I'm a little DoorKey

Good morning everyone! I've been trying to get this post done for a few days and have a had a bit of technical difficulties, but finally got it to work!

So here is our sketch for Stick it Downs card challenge this month and my take on the card sketch is below. I love a good pun so had to use the new Photoplay collection when I saw it!

I used some of the paper from the collection for the banners. I stamped the image and colored it with copics, layered it on some vellum and added a bow. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom, before layering the card panel on my card base.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MLC #12- Jul

Hello everyone! Today is the first of July! We are halfway through the year and it's time for another card challenge with Merry Little Christmas!

This month I used a stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I love that this set has a mix of sentiments with little images and the dies for both all in one. These are some of the best sets. For the card I die cut part of the sentiment and stamped the rest above it once it was adhered to the card. Then added the holly leaves to the side. Instead of using the berry stamp I added some bling, thought that felt a little more festive. Then to finish the card I adhered the cardstock, pattern paper and focal panel unto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great month! Hope to see you play along with us at MLC!!!

June SID- Thank you

Hello everyone! Here is the Stick It Down card sketch for June.

I turned the sketch so that the stripes were horizontal and the framed sentiment is at the top. I used the Everything is Rosy kit  that Stampin' Up had as a special back in May. To be honest I'm not in love with the way the card turned out, I feel its a little busy and I love the clean and simple look! Sometimes you have to try something out of your comfort zone right!?!

Don't forgot to play along and show us how you interpret the sketch, I can't wait to see what you come up with! Check out the blog here to see cards from the design team.

ATSM #341- Anything Goes

Hello everyone! Here is a card I made for Mother's Day which was celebrated Sunday in the States. I used the newer dino set from Lawn Fawn called Rawrsome. Love the adorable dinos  and sentiments in this set!

I stamped the volcano and hearts directly on the cardbase, while the dinos we stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then fussy cut. To add color to the images I just used copics and outlined the images. Love the subtle look of color it gives the images. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and embossed with white and cut them out to look like labels. I adhered the labels directly to the base and the dinos are popped up with foam tape.

SID Apr sketch - Pixie dust

Here is the April card sketch for Stick It Down! Don't forget to check out the blog to see the other creations, not to mention the sketches for scrapping!

I changed it up a little by keep the sentiment box a little smaller and using the background area for a bigger image. I was a little out of my comfort zone using so much pink and feel it may have thrown me off a bit. As an after thought I probably should have flipped the card around so that she was blowing the fairy dust off of the card... o'well. ;-)

MLC- April card

It's time for the April Merry Little Christmas Challenge! This time I decided to use a Lawn Fawn set that my hubby got me for Christmas. Its so cute!!!

I used the greenry from the set to create a little decorative stip on the card base. Then I stamped the images and sentiment on a panel to color. I did add some sparkle to the wings... can't have a fairy Christmas card with out sparkle! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, can't wait to see what you share with us this month! Have a great week!

Fruitful journal page with Joy Clair

Today is a special post for Joy Clair as we are having a blog hop! We all are sharing projects using sets from Joy Clairs Color by Faith line. I chose to create another page for my faith art journal and I decided to use the set Fruit of the Spirit.

I started by stamping all the sentiment in the middle of my page before stamping the fruit. Once I was done I realized that I got a little to close with an orange to the sentiment, so I stamped it again on a separate piece of paper and rounded the corners.

Then I colored all of my fruit with Arteza watercolor markers. Once I was done coloring I added the sentiment panel to the page and lined with some gray and a thin line from a black pen. I then adhered my decorated panel to the page in the journal.

SID March- a little note

Happy Monday or whatever day it is when you stop by! ;-) My boys on Spring Break and I wanted to join in on the fun with some butterflies on my card for Stick It Downs March card sketch!

I recently purchased the Butterfly Gala set from Stampin' Up. Was going to do all stamping on the butterflies since it's a layering set, but decided to use Stampin' Blends to add color to my butterflies.

To finish the card I added some "trails" for the butterflies with a thin marker and added my sentiment!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you create something using the card sketch or even one of the scrapbook layouts we have going on this month over at Stick It Down challenge blog!

Cup of cheer with Merry Little Christmas!

Image may contain: text

It's another month and time for Merry Little Christmas challenge # 8. I went for a clean and simple style card this month. I used Merry Cafe from Stampin' Up, I'm excited to finally use this set it's been setting in my stash unused for far to long.

I stamped the cup and lid, then drew on the lines for the band. I stamped the sentiment and smaller elements with Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow inks. Added a little shading for dimension and called the card done!

March St. Pat's planner with Joy Clair

Hello and Happy first day of march! Today we are all sharing the set Lucky Charm and we used it for Joy Clair. I used the stamp set in Jan to make a birthday card which you can see here. Today I decided to use it and create a St. Patrick week layout in my planner.

I stamped various images from the set on my planner pages. I used VersaClair inks in greens and a gray to stamp the images. To color some of the images I used some glitter gel pens. I feel it helps to leave the spread from lookin to cluttered and I still have plenty area to write.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by and see everyone's project using the adorable Lucky Charm set from Joy Clair!

ATSM #329- CAS

Today is I have a Clean and simple card to share with  you for Addicted to Stamps and More! Be sure to stop by the blog to see the other designers inspiration and to play along!

I used a succulent stamp from Hero arts as well as a sentiment to create simple card. I just love a pop of color on a mostly white card! I stamped my image and used the coordinating die to cut it out of my panel. Then I trimmed down the panel so that it wasn't as wide as the image and adhered it to the cardbase. I stamped my sentiment and popped my colored image in place with foam tape for added dimension.

I'm also adding this to CAS Mix It Up challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
