OCT SID- Gnome I'm here for the candy

Hello all and welcome to my card for the October card sketch for Stick It Down! This is fun sketch and I can see me using it again with dies, stencils and or more pattern papers for other seasons. Also if you've ever thought about being on sketch design team we are having DT call, check out the detials here!

For this months card I started with an image that I had previously watercolored and then found a pattern paper I wanted to use with it. Loved the various words and colors on this pattern paper (Recollections) that has been in my stash for quite a while! I then took some water color paper that had been cut the same size as my card front and tore it to create the design of the sketch and distressed with some black soot. When the paper pieces were adhered to the the card base I use the black soot to distress all the edges and stamped my sentiment.

I then added the gnome with an action wobble so that he is popped up and wobbles for more fun. Reminds me of the old Weeble toys.... you know they wobble but don't fall down. ;-) I added some nuvo drops and a couple of clear adhesive stars that I colored with copics to coordinate to finish the card.

Hope to see you over at Stick It Down with your card based on the card sketch or one of our scrapbook layouts! Love to see how you use the sketches. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A java valentine!

Hello everyone! Today I'm posting a valentine card I made and sent to my folks in TX and adding to some challenges (it's been a hot minute since I've played along). I'm hoping its the start of more now that I'm settling into a new job. (Fingers crossed I stay active with creating and sharing!) Anywho... my folks and I are some coffee drinkers, so thought this would be a cute one for them! Also this the first card I've shared that isn't for a design team in a long time.

I used distress oxide inks to create the blended background. The coffee cups colored to coordinate are from Lawn Fawn (Love You A Latte Stamps & Dies). I used the chunky heart panel die from Simon Says stamp for the white layer and an older Hero Arts Die set for the sentiment and little black hearts. Covered the black hearts with glossy accents and added some sequins and gems to finish the card with a little a bling! I loved how it turned out!

Birthday Balloons

I am enjoying an afternoon in my craft room, while my youngest is in here "borrowing" my TV. His brother is playing a video game with friends on the other. Which is fine by me it's forcing my to focus on the craft table and not the screen with YouTube videos. ;-) I was catching up with reading some blogs when I got inspired to make my card.

I started by stamping the balloons, then added some color for the clouds in sky to following along with a sketch. I added the sentiment, hand drew the strings and trimmed down the panel. Before popping the panel on the base with foam tape, I added a little bit of black and white washi to one side.

I will be linking the card up to the following blogs:

Thinking of you at Christmas...

I dropping by with a card I made to add to Julie's sketch challenge. It's one of the 10 sketches she has prepared in her pocket sketch book. I love a good sketch for inspiration when I seem to misplace my crafty mojo!

Here is the sketch she used with measurements!!!

You should visit her blog here for a better look and to play along. She is giving away a free sketch book to one participant.

For my card I picked some papers from an older Stampin' Up paper pad I've had in my stash. I stamped my scene on the banner and added some glitter for snow. I used a stamped and punched snowflake with a half pearl instead of a button.

I hope she likes it! I will also add this to Simon Says stamps Holly Jolly stamping challenge
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Happy Haunting.

Today I'm sharing a card that I made will looking at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge blog. They have an awesome fall/ Halloween mood board and color combo for inspiration!

I had a hard time choosing, but ended up using the bottom left image as the inspiration for my card.

I masked off the moon area and distressed the background. Stamped the tree, fence and bats on the background. On a scrap piece of card stock I stamped and colored the haunted house, then fussy cut it before adding it to the background. I then heat embossed the sentiment in silver to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by and a spooktacular day!!!

Batcave!!!

Hello all dropping by with a card for Halloween. I will add this card to the challenges over at Curtain Call and  Simon Says Stamp.

Here is my card...
I used the batcave die to cut the shape and 3 bats from the black cardstock. I colored the background using distress inks then cut out more bats, so the black cardbase would show through. I attached the batcave panel with some dimensional squares and did the same with the 3 bats.

I die cut the bag three times. Once on the book pattern and  twice on the denim paper. On a separate scratch piece of cardstock I stamped the book and sentiment. Rhino thanks

Just a quick little post to share a card my 6 year old made for his teacher. I thought I'd share it with you all and link it to the Simon Says Stamp Kids Summer Challenge

(Here he is trying on his brothers glasses)

He was so excited that I had a rhino stamp in my stash he just had to use it for Mr.K! Little ones have such big hearts!

I helped him a little with some masking to create a scene. I think he did a great coloring job and adding the sky portions of the scene. :-)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Shadowbox Card

Hello blogland! I'm posting the card I made for the challenge I have with my friends and mom. This time around the challenge was to make a shadowbox card. I saw a YouTuber make one and thought it would be fun for us to try! Here is what I came up with...

Here is a look from an angle. The middle flamingo is on a wobbler spring so he'll shake a bit too.

The card is 5 1/2x 4 1/4 so it will lay flat in an envelope for mailing although I'm thinking of just giving it my mother in law to set in her office. Here is the link to the video that has the info to make one. I won't leave the how to, it's was pretty simple and a lot of fun to make.

I will enter this into Simon Says Stamp Monday (Anything goes) and Wednesday (Get in Shape) challenges. Not 100% sure this counts a shape card, but thought I'd give it try since it's not a normal card when you stand it up. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Dad's day cards...

Today will be a quick post to share the cards I made for my dad and father-in-law. I used Lawn Fawn because I love them so! They have some awesome images to color ( I love to color) and I love the puns.

 Card number one...

I stamped and color the grill with copics on a scrap panel. Took the utensils from the same set to add a border to peek out from under the panel. Die cut the word dad and adhered it to the panel before popping the panel on the card using foam tabs.

Card number two...

inside number two...

I stamped and colored the condiment bottles with copics then stamped the letters D and A. Used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Stamped the sentiment and adhered the die cuts above it. For the inside I stamped the sentiment and image then colored in the image.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!!!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Super Day

Just stoppin' quickly this morning before I head to work to share a card I masculine card. I just recently purchased this stamp set from my favorite crafty place (PaperTrix) near my folks. This card will be perfect for my husband on father's day!
I will add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge blog, where I also applied to the DT. Fingers crossed ;-)

The card was pretty simple. I colored and fussy cut the hero. Before adding him to the base I used some copics for shading so that he would look like he was hovering slightly off the card. Stamped the sentiment, added some yellow to it then adhered the hero to the card using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Happy Anniversary

I'm in with a quick little card that I made to send for my aunt and uncle for their anniversary next week. I revisited a card that I made a few months ago, you can see it here. I changed things up a bit by using different colors, stamping flowers and adding some pearls in the centers.

I embossed the panel first then used my scoring board to add the score lines on top and bottom. I stamped the stems first then added the flowers and berries. After I stamped the sentiment, I adhered the panel to the base and added the pearl and stickle accents.

I will include this card in both the Simon Says Monday and Wednesday anything goes challenges!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy National Scrapbooking day!

Spring Flower

Hello again! I'm back with a card I made today using this die from Memory Box...

It was a free die with a December purchase from Simon Says stamp. I'm finally using it today but not to make peas in a pod. I thought it would make a pretty flower and I'm loving the turn out!

I ran the die through the cuttlebug 5 times for the petal and then added some ink tho them. Watercolored the background and began layering the petals on. I wanted dimension so that I could play along with the Lawnscaping challenge (Dimension) as well as both Simon Says challenges April showers/ Spring Flowers and In the middle and over at the Die Cut Divas for their In The Garden challenge.

Here is a closer look and the deminsion as well as the stickles I added for a little sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Easter blessings

Another Quick card today, I'm going to share this one with the Simon Says stamp pastel challenge.

For this card I stamped the image and colored it with distress inks. To add the sparkle I used a wink of stella pen that I refilled with water, I love the sparkle it adds to the watercolor look. Added the sentiment and some sequins and called it done.

Thanks stopping by, have a great day/ night!

watercolor paper, wink of stella (with water in it)

Pastel Easter bunnies

Quick card to show you that I made today, using a little $1 stamp for the first that I got either last year. I'm trying to get some Easter cards done so that I can get them in the mail. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?

I have been wanting to use this stamp just so that I could add some little pom poms for the tails. I think it ended up looking so cute! I also decided to use some pattern paper to coordinate the bunnies with. I feel that I tend to struggle using a larger piece of pattern paper. I tend feel a little more comfortable with more "white" space. So I wasn't exactly loving this card as I put it together, but in the end I liked the turn out.

I used distress stain to color the doily. While that was drying I stamped and colored the bunnies with Copics. I heat embossed the Easter sentiment in yellow and stamped happy in white. Once the doily was dry I glued it and the pattern paper together and attached them to the card base. After I adhered the bunny panel to the gray embossed I glued them both to the base too. Last I used some glossy accents to attach their cute little pom pom tails.

Will post to the following Challenges:

Baby page/ Birthday Invites

Here is another quick little post today. I don't usually share personal pictures, but I thought I would add the scrapbook page I worked on today to Simon Says stamp challenge.

This page is for my youngest. He is 3 months in the picture... I just love that smile.

He will be 6 on the 17th and I made the invites to his party today so I thought I'd share them as well. I will be adding them to the Wednesday Simon Says stamp blog for the anything goes.

The last picture is him when he was out "helping" to shovel the snow Sunday! ;-)
Have a great day!

Happy St. Patrick's day

Today's card was made with challenges in mind. Lawnscaping (Dots and Stripes), Simon Says stamp (Just a hint of clover) and the challenge I do with my little group of friends (use 3 pattern papers).

Here is what I came up with...

To make my shamrocks I used a heart punch with three different papers and scored them down the center. I used some twine for the stems and added a rhinestone in the middle to cover where the 3 hearts meet. I don't have a shamrock shape die or punch and thought the hearts turned out just as nice!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time!
Have a great week!

Java Joy!

Hello everyone! Got a card for you that I made for the little challenge between my friends a I. Got it done while skyping again too... I'm getting better at being creative while having the virtual chat! ;-) Our challenge this time around was was based off an image I found while perusing pinterest.
Just love the mugs! I am going to post the card to a couple of challenges since it fits in the criteria.

and

Here is my finished card...

I made the polka dot paper by stamping and heat embossing a polka dot stamp, then using distress inks to color. I then finally used the die from SSS that came in a kit to cut out the coffee mugs. Added some stickles to help the hearts stand out a little more and stamped my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
