Land of the FREE!

Good morning! I wanted to share a card for the 4th of July before I mail it out! Since the 4th is Saturday, I'd better make it quick!

I made a side step card...

Here is a view from the side to help see the layers...

I stamped the sentiments and flag pole on the card base. The flag was then stamped and fussy cut before adding it to the card. The cityscape was die cut out of gray. To finish the card I added some blinb stick on stars and scattered white star confetti.

I will link this card to both Simon Says challenges Anything Goes and Summer
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!

With all my heart

Good Morning!!! I'm about to run out the door to get some errands done while the boys are at school, but I wanted to get some cards posted to challenges before I left. Just in case! This first card is getting linked to SSS Wed challenge and Lawnscaping.

I did end covering a lot of the background, but wanted to make sure there was plenty white space around the heart.

I heat embossed the background with chevron and used distress inks to color it. I then used the same distress inks to color the heart from a Heidi Swapp stencil and used the stamp that came with it for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Birthday

Today while I was skyping with a friend in NC I made a few cards... instead of just sitting one the computer chatting! Which is was usually happens (at least for me). She tends to get cards made everytime!
I made this card with a specific person in mind, since his birthday is right around the corner. Using a die that I picked up early last year, but have never actually used. I feel so bad when I do that, but usually get around to using it. ;-)

I got a new phone so I'm trying it's camera, it's already looking a little better than my old one. I generally get to lazy or in a hurry to get my real camera out for card photos. Anywho...

I taped off the top and bottom of the card so that I could color my "sky" with distress inks. Then I ran the die through my cuttlebug 3 times and glued the layers together for some dimension on the card. I love this look! I also did the same technique on another card that will be sharing in another post.

I will be adding this card to 2 challenges:
and
and

Beware! Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween! The boys are excited for trick or treating tonight and the fall parties they will be having at school today too. At school they've coined this month Rocktober and the well behaved classes get to dress up like rock stars. My 2nd grader is ready to be tattooed like Adam Levine, one of his favorite songs is "Moves Like Jagger".  He is also who is getting this card.

I will also be linking this card to Simon Says Stamps anything goes challenge.

I used Distress paints for the background. For the web I used the Tim Holtz shatter stencil dipped in Black soot distress ink and stamped it on the background. My spider is a MFT die brushed with wink of stella and glossy accents. I love the finished look thanks to Kristina Werner for the inspiration

I've got two cards to share today! I feel like I've been extra crafty the past few days!!! I've decorated some wooden letters for a friend who is leaving, painted my plaster Halloween house from Michaels and have made a few cards.  Phew, wish I was this motivated more often!

This first card is based of the Freshly Made Sketch

I flipped it for a vertical card. The pattern paper was a scrap on my desk so I just used it as my color scheme. The cardstock and stamp are from Recollections and stamped in VersaFine. The pattern paper is from Stampin' Up. Added some black embellishments and sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight (Stampin' Up) to give them some definition.
I will also add this card to Simon Says StampWednesday challenge.

Now on to card number two. This card will be added to the Simon says stamp Monday challenge. The challenge was go bold! So with that in mind I used a recently purchased stencil that I think is very pretty! Used some bright gold Modeling Cream and it turned out to like a little yellow with the flash, but I thought the two items combined made for a bold background.  Usually I don't use gold(I prefer silver any day) and boy is this a vivid gold! I didn't want to cover to much up so I went with black embossing a larger sentiment on vellum and called it a day.

Products:
Recollections- cardstock and embossing powder
Viva- modeling cream
Hero Arts- stencil and sentiment

Etc.- VersaMark ink and Queen & Co bling

As always thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Lawnscaping #86

I'm stopping by with a post for the Lawnscaping challenge blog. They are always fun to play with, and I love Lawn Fawn so it isn't a stretch for me to play along. Lawn Fawn has been showing all there new goodies for their new release, I've been drooling over it as usual! :-) You can check out their releases here. So on to the card...

I will also add this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge blog. When I think of mid-summer I tend to think how nice it would be to be on a beach! Don't get to do that in IL. ;-)

I used Life is Good stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn. I watercolored my background with Distress Inks onto Tim Holtz watercolor paper. Thanks for stopping by!

I was picked as an honorable Gnome for the Lawnscaping watercolor challenge!
