Happy Happy Happy...

Hello everyone, today is my first post with Stick it Down! I'm so excited to be apart of the team and to work with the sketches. If you haven't heard of or played with the challenge before they not only have a card sketch, but sketches for scrapping as well. they have a single page and double page sketch as well. Visit the post here to see all the sketches.

Here is this months card sketch by Laura Rumble.

Here is my take on the sketch!

I picked my colors of cardstock to trim down to size. I adhered them to a piece of copy paper to keep them together. Then used my Misti to stamp the sentiment repeatedly and then heat embossed.

ATSM #299- CAS

Today's card is for Addicted to Stamps and More, we are working on Clean and Simple. My card is a little more busy than my usual clean and simple, but I included it for this challenge since it was pretty simple to make. I used my MISTI to stamp everything, except for the image (it's a wood stamp). I made 10 of these... you can see some of the others peeking out from the bottom of the top card.  They are a going away gift for my folks who are moving back to Texas, I thought they could use them to send their new address. Before adhering the panels to the cardbase, I added some color with Copics keeping the coloring simple.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and play with this weeks CAS challenge, I can't wait to see what you share with us. Thanks as always for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment and follow the blog for updates with new posts!

Guide me with Joy Clair

Today's card is my take on the challenge over at Joy Clair blog for the month of July, please stop by the blog to play along and see the DT's inspired projects!

Here is a look at the inspiration photo...
July

I started my card by adding some glitter in shades of blue and white to create my background. I then stamped, colored and fussy cut the ship from Light House. I die cut a circle to create a window and laid it over the glitter background. After I adhered the boat, I stamped the sentiment and added some white stars on the glitter background and sentiment areas.

Sky is the limit with Joy Clair

Today I'm posting over at the Joy Clair blog! Using the new set Sky's the Limit with some inks from Imagine crafts.

I decided to share a image of my attempt to stamp on a cork coaster, using VersaFine Clair inks from Imagine Crafts. So far so good, I need to see how it stands up with a sweaty glass on it, but I like the way it looks and the ink stamped well on the cork!

Happy 4th with Joy Clair

Today I'm sharing a post for Joy Clair's June challenge. I love the patriotic feel of the inspiration photo.
Image may contain: stripes

So went with a very summery, patriotic theme on two cards. The first one is a card for the 4th of July.  I jumped on the chance to Joy Clair's Happy Fourth set, I just love the pinwheel and fireworks.

I started by stamping the image and sentiment, then placed some pattern paper above and below my stamped area. Then I colored the pinwheel in coordinating copic colors. Then added some Wink of Stella for a little sparkle!

For my second card I also used the Grungy Flag background, as well as the fireworks from Happy Fourth. I just love the look of this flag stamp.

I inked the star part of the back ground stamp with blue and the stripes in red and stamped the image. I had to set it aside for awhile since I used a pigment ink. Once the ink was dry I stamp the large fireworks and embossed them with a glitter embossing powder. Then I used silver embossing powder for the little fireworks.

I made this card for my dad's birthday (he loves anything patriotic and he was born on Memorial Day), so I used the Enjoy your day sentiment from the new Joy Clair set Life's a Breeze

Coffee lover blog hop- Coffee Anytime

Image may contain: text
Today is the start for the Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop! I'm so excited to be playing along with Joy Clair, be sure to stop by the  Joy Clair blog to sweet what my teamies made to play along! For my project I was inspired by bright seasonal colors as well as butterflies and flowers! I decided to create an art journal page in appreciation that I love my coffee anytime! ;-) This could be cute to do again to show all for seasons.

I used distress inks to color the back ground and spritzed with water. I then added some  beans (stamp) and stenciled on the coffee rings. I stamped the cup images on some coordinating pattern paper and fussy cut them. I then colored in the coffee with a copic and added glossy accents over it. I die cut two arrows from vellum to create the hour and minute hands, then glued them to the center.

Hope you get inspired by any of the stops along the blog and play along. The hop always has wonderful sponsors and it's fun to play along! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You're a Classic with Joy Clair

Today at Joy Clair we are sharing projects for Father's! To see the all the inspiration visit the blog here

I used the new set Classic Father's Day for my card today and drew inspiration from a sketch I saw on Pinterest. I stared stamping my image on three squares. Found some iridescent silver specialty cardstock and ran it through my Big Kick with an embossing folder.

I stamped my sentiment on some scratch cardstock and cut it down for the banner. I adhered the embossed panel and banner on the cardbase. I layered the stamped squares on some cardstock and popped them on the cardbase with foam adhesive.

It ended up being slitghtly monochromatic card, but I really like how the speciality works with the blue! Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

ATSM #292- make your mark 5/12

I was looking through my stamps for a project the other day and came a across the set with these cute little guys. While looking at it I realized I've never used it! I know it's a shame, but I have a few sets that are like that. They've been sitting in my stash because I had to have them, but haven't gotten around to using them. I know I'm not the only one. ;-)

Well since they were in my hand, I thought no time like the present to put them to use. I know it's not even summer yet and I made a halloween card... (even my youngest asked why), but when an idea strikes you go with it!

Using a die from MFT I measured where my images should go before stamping them. Colored the images and their backgrounds with copics. For the sentiment window I decided to add coordinating colors by stamping smaller sentiments in the colors of the squares above.

Finished the card by add hearing the panel to the cardbase and adding stitching to the window borders.

Coffee Collab Hop!

Image may contain: text

Today we are joy Clair are joining forces with friends at Coffee Loving Cardmakers for a blog hop! Hope you enjoy hopping along to see what everyone is creating for the hop. I ended up making two projects for today using the new set Coffee Talk

The first is this tile...

I did attempt to use my misti for the project in case I needed to stamp the image again. I used a pigment ink and had to be careful to not smear the ink. I've only done this once before so I'm sure there are better tips and tricks, but so far so good.

I think it's cute and plan to make more or try different techniques. I know my parents wouldn't mind getting a set as a gift. ;-) Then I could use me second project to go with it. I used the same images from the Coffee Talk set since they were already out and added a sentiment. I created a background with a die I have in my stash, I thought it was a good addition to the sentiment.

Aren't the images and sentiments awesome!

I stamped the bricks first and then sentiment. I used copics to color the sentiment so that each letter had gradient color and a few of the bricks in the back ground. Then stamped the splatters in various colors.

I stamped the artist and colored her with copics as well, adding some color to the paint palette as well, before fussy cutting her. I adhered the panel to the card base. Then I adhered the artist using foam adhesive to pop her up a little.

Let's start the fun with the creativity and remember that we always have prizes for our readers and visitors that comment HERE in our corporate blog and in ALL the designer blogs during the hop.

ATSM #290- Your Kindness

It's the start of another challenge over at ATSM and it's a photo inspiration! Love the chic look of the photo with it's colors and textures on the frames.

I chose the color theme to use for my card and wanted to add the texture from the frames. I started by stamping the images on the some light green cardstock. Since I used a layering stamp set on the cardstock, I started the first layer of stamping with some white pigment ink. Then layered the other colors on top and used the matching dies to cut them out.

I ran the white panel through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder. I realized after I embossed that I had forgotten to stamp my sentiment and the little flowers first... Doh! So I used my MISTI to carefully stamp the sentiment and flowers. Which worked out great since I knew I'd have to stamp it a few times because of the embossed texture. There were a few spots in the sentiment that I couldn't get to stamp correctly, so I used a micron pen to color those areas better. I glued the stems of the leaves directly to the card panel under the carnation popping the leaf tips up with a pop dot and adhered the carnation with foam adhesive as well to finish the card!

Just love the look with the dimension and texture!
