Hello Sunshine!

The boys stayed the night with the grandparents last night. Generally if we have a free night we roam the town, but with it being a work weekend for me it was nice just to have a quiet night at home. Usually on my work weekends ( which in the retail world is every other) I'm to beat to do any crafting at the end of the day. Last night felt the pretty much the same but I started to work on a card for the Card Concept challenge anyway. Then stepped away to go to bed since I was tired, but then couldn't sleep until it was done. Does anyone else ever do that?  (It isn't the first for me!)
Anywho.... I got back up and quickly finished the card as it was pretty simple. There isn't a lot to it, but I liked the way it turned out and actually got an idea for another card in the process. :-)  So hopefully I'll be able to get that card done too.

Here's the inspiration...

Here's my card...

I'm really like gray and yellow together lately, so I decided to use that. I colored the doily with Distress Stain in Wild Honey and adhered it to the card. I then cut off what was hanging over and added it for more layers. Stamped my sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) on vellum (Martha Stewart) and embossed it in Silver embossing powder (Recollections). I noticed it looks white in the picture, but it really is silver. In the container I thought it was gray, opps!  Then added a few rhinestones (Hero Arts- thanks Deborah Nolan!)

Hope you like it and are having a wonderful long weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

I heart fall

Just a quick little post to share a card I made and thought would be a good addition to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge. It's a "joy fold" card so the panel with the boy opens to the right and the panel with the leaves open to the left.

The patterned paper and leaf brads are some items from my stash. The white and brown cardstock are Recollections as is the twine. The cute boy is from CC Designs and I colored him with copic markers. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn,

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Halloween Kitty

Wanting to you a recently purchased cling back ground stamp and also wanting to get out into Lawnscaping challenge today.

I love this little witchy cat from LawnFawn. The background is from Penny Black. I embossed it with black embossing and colored the background with distress inks in Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves. I colored the cat with copics and then added some light gray flocking for the fir.

I tried getting a better picture of the flock, but I struggled. I need to work on my photography skills!
I'm going to add this to

Triangle sending love card

Second card today. I feel I'm on a roll today! This card is going to be added to the Addicted to CAS

and Moxie Fab

blogs. You'll see I really got a lot of the inspiration from the photo. Which was easy to do since I love geometric patterns.

I used a scrap piece of paper I had lying around and stamped my triangles (Close to my heart) in four colors using memento dew drops. (Lady bug, Dandelion, Pear Tart and Bahama Blue) Then I die cut the word Love (Sizzix/ Stampin'up) out of another scrap and colored black using a copic. Once the word was on the card I stamped "sending" in black. Then I used clear wink of stella over the die cut word and covered it with Glossy Accents. Once the Glossy Accents were dry attached my card front to the base.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

You rule/rock back to school

Today I made a very clean and simple card. My two oldest start school tomorrow and I wanted them both to have a card from me since I will be at work when they go. My oldest will get the card I made for a lawnscaping challenge, you can see it here. This one will go to my second grader. ( I love puns, my kids don't stand a chance!) I will be adding the cared to the Simon says Monday challenge, the theme is anything goes.

I used copics to draw and color the rock and the ruler was an embellishment that I received in a Simon says stamp kit. Just stuck them on some white cardstock and hand drew the speech bubbles and sentiments, then called it done. Not much to it.

The card I came up with was...

My card base is Neenah desert storm cardstock. I used scraps for my plaid ribbon and white cardstock. All the images I used are from Lawn Fawn.

July CCC

Well it just dawned on me that I haven't posted my card yet for the July CCC!!! You can go here and see all the lovely cards that everyone made. This is a real fun challenge to be a part of because you get to send your card (based on the challenge) to someone else on the list and receive on too! If you would like to check it out and maybe join in check here
My card:

I decided to follow the sketch, color combo and fish theme from the challenge options. The colored card stock is from Recollection and the vellum ( front wave) is Martha Stewart, I used the EK success wave border punch on them. The shells and critter are from Lawn Fawn. I colored them in with Copics on Neenah Solar White card stock. Hello was die cut using Lawn Fawn as well, I then covered the letters with clear Wink of Stella and glossy accents.

Thanks for coming by!

Make it Sparkle

Today's card is going to added to Simon Says Stamp challenge, which is...
With that in mind I used the same sketch for the card I posted earlier this week and made a Halloween card. The glitter I used covers the ghosts and it glows in the dark! Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture of the glitter glowing, but it looks pretty cool. My boys think so, and they can be my toughest critics!

Just about everything used on the card are Recollection items, with the exception of the ghosts and ink. The ghosts are Quickkutz dies from Lifestyle Crafts (which is now We R Memory Keepers), the ink is Close to my Heart Grey Wool and VersaFine black.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Back 2 School

It's that time of year again when the kiddos go back to school. This year I have an 8th grader, 2nd grader and my baby will be in kindergarten! Can't believe it! I made a card with a sketch in mind and using my school colors ( it's part of the challenge I put out to my card making friends). It turned out that Lawnscaping challenge blog did a back to school theme as well. So I will be adding the card to their challenge.
Here is the card that I made, I think I'll be giving it to my oldest for his first day.

The lines and sentiment are from Close to My Heart and the images are from Lawn Fawn (colored with Copics). The flask and globe have glossy accents and I added some clear Wink of Stella to the book. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!!!

Rainbow miss you

Today is a card I made for a friend at work who is leaving for a new adventure in Colorado! We'll miss her, but I'm excited for her and jealous a little of her new view! ;-) I will be adding the card to 2 challenges one is Freshly Made Sketches
and the other is CASology.

Here is my take:
