Joyful Christmas

A quick little post to share a card. I made this card and thought it would be a good addition to the Shopping Our Stash Challenge. This weeks theme is Red Alert. Even though I do have some green on the card the red really stands out to me.

I used the Joyful Christmas set from Stampin' Up and colored it with copics. For a little sparkle I added the lipstick Spica pen to the veins and Gelly Roll gold glitter to the centers.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Wise Men

I've been busy working on my Christmas cards, I'm still not done. Hopefully next year I will be more ahead of the game, but that's what I said last year too! ;-) Only time will tell. My cards today were inspired by two different blog challenges and a new Close to My Heart set that I picked up this year.

Both cards are based off of this sketch from Case this Sketch

First card is very simple with some silver tape and embossing powder and the image stamped in purple. I will include this in the CASology challenge blog.

Here is the second card I made, without the tape layer between the card base and panel. I decided to use some distress inks to make a background for my wise men.

Either card would be fairly easy to mass produce. I'm not sure which I like better. I enjoy the colors on the distress background, but like the simplicity of the first.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Home for the Holidays

Another quick post for SSS Monday challenge blog. The theme is transportation. I bought this stamp this year with the idea of using it to make a Christmas card for my father in law. Here is the card...

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black and colored it in using Copics. I made a light horizon line with a pale blue Copic and added some shadow under the truck with light gray Copics. To finish off the scene I added some stickles to the ornaments and a lot of dry distress stickles for the snow.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic night!

White on white

Today's card is for the Lawnscaping challenge and while I'm at it I'll add it to the Simon Says Stamp Wed blog challenge.

I've been wanting to do a white on white card, but when I would sit to make a card I would always add color! This helped to keep me on track!

After I added the gel medium over the stencil I covered it in glitter, then set it aside to dry. Used glossy accents to attach the snowflakes and gave them a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

O'Christmas Tree shaker card

Just a quick little post to show some cards that I made featuring a stamp set from Neat and Tangled called Winter Trees. I absolutely adore the trees and sentiments in this set.

I just started out stamping the image to color it just for the fun of it. Ended up turning it into a shaker card and I plan on linking it up to the challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

Second card wasn't as time consuming..

I was so excited to sit down and use my new stamps, and to use the snowflake sequins that I bought at work last year and hadn't used! I'm sure to use this set a few more times before winter is over and probably through out the year without the sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and stay warm!

Muse DT call entry

This is a quick post for my entry in the Muse DT call. They say for the entry you can enter something old or new. I scrolled through my flicker account to see if there was one that I had done already to use. I came across this card that I never posted and thought it was perfect.

I love the gnome and his mushroom home! Lawn Fawn has some of the cutest images! ;-) The call is running until the 11th of December for anyone that would like to go for it, or if you'd like to help pick a winner voting starts on the 12th of December. Anyone can vote for up to 3 cards. There are already quite a few wonderful projects entered. It'll be a tough decision for the voters. Good luck to all that enter!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Like totally love you

Today's card I made for my hubby. Wednesday is our anniversary. This stamp cracks me up cause I totally see the word life instead of like, so which means it's probably how I he'll see it too! I will add this card to Simon Says Stamp challenge blog

I'm on a slight watercolor kick still, it's a lot of fun! For the card I just stamped my sentiment on some watercolor paper and colored over it with distress markers. Then I attacked it with some water and a paint brush to blend them. I just added the panel to some pattern paper in my stash , didn't want to go over board and make it all girly for the hubby. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, have great day!

Joy Ornament

Here with another card with a blue and gray/silver look to it. Last night while catching up some of my recorded shows I decided to pull out a neglected stamp set and play with my watercolors. I've been watching some videos on the WPlus9 YouTube channel and was very inspired! She is awesome.

Once I was done coloring it, I thought the panel I used was the perfect size for Freshly Made Sketch

and of course another great option for  Merry Monday Challenge

Here is my finished card...

I'm no budding watercolor painter for sure, but I thought it turned out pretty decent! I love blue and white with sparkles!

Thanks as always for stopping by. Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the weekend!

Fusion Ombre

I made a card based off of the Fusion Card Challenge

Love the ombre and embossing on the cake. I did go a little out of my element on the card by adding the flowers to mimic the cake.  I also followed the sketch .

Using distress ink (Broken China) I tinted the vellum (bottom panel) and gave the other panel the ombre look. I then embossed the vellum panel with the cuttlebug and rubbed the distress ink over the embossing. ( Not easy to see in the picture) The big flower I made cutting and rolling a doily, adding gems to the centers for a little sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Friday!

Merry Monday #134

I'm posting today to share a card I made for the Merry Monday challenge #134.

I saw the challenge image and was ready to get started with my idea in mind! I call our tree the winter wonderland tree, full of blues, whites and silver! Here is what I came up with...

I embossed the ornaments in silver on water color paper. I watercolor them with distress markers. Just for a little more shimmer I used the Perfect Pearls as watercolor for the white areas.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Supplies:

Ornate Ornaments (Lawn Fawn)
Recollection Detail Silver embossing powder
Distress Markers- Broken China and Chipped Sapphire

Will also add this to the CASology Festive challenge

Christmas home

I have a card today made with a Hero Arts set that I got from work last year. I've been waiting to use one of the houses from it. I attempted to make a serene winter scene and add glitter using some glossy accents. Also I purposely colored out of the lines on the Christmas lights to look like they were glowing.

I will be adding this card to the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge for the anything goes theme. I still have plenty of holiday cards to make so hopefully I will get more done to fit along some of the other themes they have going on the blog challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pumpkin Thanks!

I like to make mini cards for my Avon customers when they order. I tend to stick with 3x3 size which is a great size to fit in just about any size bag. I like to try to make them a theme for for the month in which they order, so this month I decided to do a pumpkin. Which just so happened to fit with the following challenges:

Clean and simple

I got the Lawn Fawn So Thankful set earlier this year and hadn't used it yet. The pumpkins are the perfect size for a mini card.

To make the cards I just folded a 6x3 piece of card stock (110 lb) in half and added the a woodgrain washi tape at the bottom. The pumpkin and leaf images were stamped in Desert Sand Memento ink and colored with copics. The curly vines and sentiment were stamped using Memento Luxe in Rich Cocoa. I didn't saturate the paper to much with the Copics so the bleeding was very minimal.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Beware! Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween! The boys are excited for trick or treating tonight and the fall parties they will be having at school today too. At school they've coined this month Rocktober and the well behaved classes get to dress up like rock stars. My 2nd grader is ready to be tattooed like Adam Levine, one of his favorite songs is "Moves Like Jagger".  He is also who is getting this card.

I will also be linking this card to Simon Says Stamps anything goes challenge.

I used Distress paints for the background. For the web I used the Tim Holtz shatter stencil dipped in Black soot distress ink and stamped it on the background. My spider is a MFT die brushed with wink of stella and glossy accents. I love the finished look thanks to Kristina Werner for the inspiration

Sweet Frankie

Ok last post for today, I promise! ;-) This card is getting linked to the Simon Says Stamps challenge. They are doing the ever favorite anything goes! I had done some other cards with the same layout give or take. The other cards were done with smaller images (see them here) and I wanted to see if I could pull it off with one large image too. I thought it turned out cute and it gave me my first chance to use my recently purchased Doodle Bug sequins too! :-)

The image is a digi stamp from CC Designs, the sentiment is Close To My Heart, with a Martha Stewart punch on the side.

Thanks again for the third time today (for some) for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!!!
Monica

Wish you were here...

Another quick card for Addicted to CAS I used vellum to make the window for the cut out. I wanted the background to be slightly muted so the arrow would stand out. Don't mind the hand my youngest wanted his hand be in the picture, I couldn't resist his sweet smile when he said please! :-)

Thanks for stopping by for another card! Have a great day!
Monica

Sunflower jar

Just a quick post for a card I made and plan to link to the Addicted to CAS blog.

I had another challenge in mind when I made this card, it inspired the flowers, the checkered area and the two tone jar. I had seen a blogger not to long ago color vellum using distress ink and had been wanted to try it for myself. So when I saw the yellow and black glass I though it was a good time to try it. I did give it a little time to dry before putting the card together.

I thought it turned out pretty neat. I like how you can still see through the vellum like it's tinted glass.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Teenage Frankie

Hello again for the second time today! I told you I'd show the third card I'd made during the virtual craft session today. I will add this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge, shown below.

I colored this big headed Frankie from MakeItCrafty and thought he turned out so cute. His bolts remind me of big head phones, so I thought he'd be perfect for my teenager.

I hope my teenager digs him as much as I do!
I will also adding this to the Shopping our Stash blog for their Halloween theme this week.

Thanks for stopping by or for stopping by again for some! :-) This will be the last for today!
Have a great day!

Trick-or-treat

Today I was a busy girl and made 3 cards while on a Skype session with a friend that moved to NC! Funny thing is I think the both of us got more cards today on our video session than  we ever did sitting in the same room! :-) Anyways... With that being said I tried to focus my card making on the Lawnscaping Challenge.

So I went to working on my card. I recently had seen a pin on pinterest and thought it was a great sketch. So I used that as my starting point and picked the stamp set I wanted to use. This is what I came up with...

I liked how it turned out and had fun making it so I decided to make a second card using the same sketch and stamp set.

Lawnscaping facebook inspiration team is having a DT call and I've already entered in 2 of my cards. I'm going to add the top card into the DT call as well. Fingers crossed, I hope they like what they see!!

I know I mentioned 3 cards, so there is one missing from this post! There will be another post with it soon. Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Oct CCC

Here is my card for the CCC challenge. My card went to Lucille in CO this month which who sent me a card last month. This month I decided to follow the color palette and use the Halloween theme.

I like the colors still the show with what could be a monochromatic card. Here is what I came up with...

The black cardstock and pattern paper are from Recollections. I used a die from MFT for the window and colored the background with distress inks (Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves). The sentiment is from a Halloween collection by Recollections. After I put everything together I decided I didn't want a fully black spider web, so I used my white Wink of Stella glitter over it.

Thanks for stopping by! Have an Awesome day!!!

Fall Birthday

I made a card today using  mostly Lawn Fawn items for a fall birthday card. I will add this to the Lawnscaping challenge.

I will also add this to the color challenge at My Favorite Things.

My friends birthday is Friday so I thought a fall theme would be perfect although I was very tempted to do a Halloween theme. :-)  I pulled out some Lawn Fawn papers from last years release, I love the patterns and colors in the pack!

In addition to the Lawn Fawn papers I also used some of their twine, stamps, dies and a sequin from the fall themed package. I love those leaves with the stitching! The brads are from American Crafts and the inks I used were Memento Luxe.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Coffee!

Hello again! Second post today. These cards were made using the October card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I made these cards with the challenge my friends and I give each other every 2 weeks, to help each other to keep using our stash! Some time I just need the extra nudge... Our them this time around is to make at least 2 cards with 1 stamp set. I thought the first card might work with Addicted to CAS challenge theme...

Card #1

I used distress ink with the splatter stencil from Tim Holtz for my coffee rings. Although it does slightly make me think of a cow print, but I think that is mostly because of the color choice! I add some of the sequins included in the kit and a little bit of brown glitter glue from Recollections on the coffee.

Card number #2...

On this card I just used copics to color in my mugs and coffee, then added some glossy accents to make the coffee look liquidy (I know it's not a real word, but I'm using it anyway!) I think this is my favorite of the two, mostly because these are the colors I'm drawn to more.

Thank for stopping by!

Hello Friend

Hello everyone! I'm posting a card to day that I am adding to the Lawnscaping challenge. The challenge this time around is to use pattern paper. This is a great challenge for me as I have tons of pattern paper, but tend to hoard it! I know this is probably the same story for many of us! Hopefully this challenge will help to inspire me to use more of the paper, before the end of the challenge.

Here is my card...

I used the LawnFawn set that was exclusive to SimonSays Stamp for Stamptember. It is such a cute set I felt that I couldn't pass it up, so it was a self indulgent birthday present!;-) Used some pattern paper from MME that I received an a Simon Says Stamp card kit a while back.

I created a second card using this set since the little challenge I do with friends was to make at least 2 cards with 1 stamp set. Here is card number two...

For this one I just selectively cut out the center square for the birds and sentiment. Stamped the feathers on the outer frame and colored all the images with copic markers. Added a little green cardstock for a border between frames and finished it with a little clear Wink of Stella.

Thanks for stopping by!

Big thanks!

Just a quick little post this morning. Today is world card making day and also my sons birthday party, so I won't get much time to participate today. First I just wanted to share the card I made for my sons birthday (which was actually yesterday).

I love the Lawn fawn critters they are so stinkin' cute!

I've also made another card with a couple of challenges in mind. One challenge is the color combo from My Favorite Things. Love the fall colors! I don't have the exact colors but I went as close as I could.

The other challenge I had in mind was CASe this Sketch

All stamps and inks used are from Close to my Heart, and yes this is the same stamp set form the kit that I used here and here. I'm loving this set! I also have another ides for the sketch planned out, so I'm hoping that I can get it done and posted... maybe today... ? Only time will tell.

As for time I need to go add some chocolate icing to the cupcakes. Not many kids like the cupcake with out it. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful and crafty day!
