Birthday Balloons

I am enjoying an afternoon in my craft room, while my youngest is in here "borrowing" my TV. His brother is playing a video game with friends on the other. Which is fine by me it's forcing my to focus on the craft table and not the screen with YouTube videos. ;-) I was catching up with reading some blogs when I got inspired to make my card.

I started by stamping the balloons, then added some color for the clouds in sky to following along with a sketch. I added the sentiment, hand drew the strings and trimmed down the panel. Before popping the panel on the base with foam tape, I added a little bit of black and white washi to one side.

I will be linking the card up to the following blogs:

Hello Fall

I'm stopping by with a card I made with my new Waffle Flower stamp set. I used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch for my design.I used an ink squishing technique, using a stamp block for my background on watercolor paper.

I added my image and sentiment using my misti since the watercolor paper is textured, I wanted the image and sentiment to be as full as possible. Layered the watercolor piece on my cardbase.

I love the look using the block for the watercolored background, I think I will use it again. I am linking this card to the following challenges:

Butterfly Hello

I spent some time today looking around at some of the blogs I follow and ran across the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I thought it would be fun to play along since it's been awhile. I looked back and the challenge I joined (other than my design team stuff) was back in December! Holy cow, it's been busy and time has flown by.

Here is the sketch for there challenge and I thought it would fun to join...

I kept the layout the same and decided to use some Stampin' Up products that I haven't used yet. I'll link them below if your interested in any of them. I recently became a Stampin' Up demonstrator, we will see how that goes. ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Eek!!!

Hello all! Hope everyone had a great week! Today's card is a Halloween card that I made with the CAS(E)this Sketch Challenge in mind. Here is the sketch...

 and my card...

My card is all die cuts. I die cut the spider web out of black and adhered it to the green panel then trimmed the edges. Used some of the trimmed edges to fill the other top corner. I attached a small peice of black twine for the spider then atteched him after he was die cut. I added the die cut letters and then adhered the panel to the cardbase. To finish it off I added to little orange rhinestones for  the eyes.
Here is a closer look the spider...
I also tried to get a better picture of all the sparkle from the glitter paper!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Happy Anniversary

I started my day off very crafty as I got 2 cards done and another started all before I left to pick my boys about an hour and half away. The card below was the first and was made for some friends for their anniversary. I made it with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge in mind.
Here is this weeks sketch...

Here is my card...

I masked of the area to create my strip across the top. I stamped and embossed the images, then added color to the back ground with some distress inks. Adhered the panel to the card base, stamped my sentiment and added some hand drawn lines to make a border to the yellow strip.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

I'm stopping in with a quick post that I made with 2 challenges in mind.

and One Layer Simplicity Strip Down.

My card...

For my card I tore a sheet of copy paper and taped it down to make a strip of distress inks. After I was finished inking I removed the mask so I could stamp the tree and sentiment. I added some colored cardstock to the base before adhering my stamped panel to it. To finish it off I added some distress stickles to parts of the tree.

Thanks for stopping by and have great day!!!

USA!

Hello blogland! Thought I'd share a card I made while craft skyping with you real quick. It's very patriotic since the 4th of July is next weekend and I need to send some cards out! I made the card with theCAS(E) this Sketch challenge in mind...

My take...

a closer look of the top corner...

The card was pretty quick to make and I could easily make more. I stamped and embossed the fireworks with a glitter embossing powder. Once that was heat set I stamped the USA and colored it with copics. I know the fireworks are hard to see, but are sparkly in person.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you stop by again tomorrow and join me in the Lawnscaping Blog Hop!
Have a great day!!!

Good times

I made 3 cards  and got a scrapbook page finished today, so I'm feeling pretty productive! This card I made with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

I was playing with some color options for another challenge when I made the background. Didn't like it for that one, but it worked for this card just fine! The watercolor background is Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick sprayed water and smooshed it on some Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I used the white embossing powder for the sentiment and brackets.

Thanks for stopping by!

14th Birthday

Hello everyone. Today's card is for my eldest son's birthday, I'm done ahead of schedule! Woo hoo! ;-) He will be 14 on the 1st. I made the card using the sketch from Case this Sketch and will be adding it to there challenge.

I also made it so that it would work with the challenge over at Shopping Our Stash. Their challenge is counting on you which gave me even more of an opportunity to use a die that I hadn't used yet.

I did flip the side for the ribbon since it was easier to tuck it under the numbers on the left side. I die cut the number and glued them to the card. Added the ribbon with staples in hopes to keep from being to girly for my teenage boy. ;-) I used the die a second time just to cut out the 1 and 4 and then colored them with Copics before adhering them to the card.

Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day!

In your favor

Here is a card I made using recently purchased stamp by SugarPea Designs. When I saw the stamp I had to get, I'm a bit of a nerd and love the Hunger Games!

I kept it simple and just colored her with copics. Added the colored and sentiment panels to die gray and white paper for a slight border. I'm going to include this in two challenges. CAS(E) this sketch and Shopping Our Stash Weekly.

  Thanks for stopping by!

Feel Better

A quick post to a share a card that I made for a friend who is currently under the weather. I the used sketch from CAS(E) this sketch

and tried to keep the the Lawnscaping challenge in mind.

Using some watercolor paper I stamped the image with distress ink. Colored it in using distress ink mixed with water, to give it the watercolor look. Stamped the sentiment in the same distress ink, added a strip of pattern paper and adhered the panel to a dark blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Wise Men

I've been busy working on my Christmas cards, I'm still not done. Hopefully next year I will be more ahead of the game, but that's what I said last year too! ;-) Only time will tell. My cards today were inspired by two different blog challenges and a new Close to My Heart set that I picked up this year.

Both cards are based off of this sketch from Case this Sketch

First card is very simple with some silver tape and embossing powder and the image stamped in purple. I will include this in the CASology challenge blog.

Here is the second card I made, without the tape layer between the card base and panel. I decided to use some distress inks to make a background for my wise men.

Either card would be fairly easy to mass produce. I'm not sure which I like better. I enjoy the colors on the distress background, but like the simplicity of the first.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Big thanks!

Just a quick little post this morning. Today is world card making day and also my sons birthday party, so I won't get much time to participate today. First I just wanted to share the card I made for my sons birthday (which was actually yesterday).

I love the Lawn fawn critters they are so stinkin' cute!

I've also made another card with a couple of challenges in mind. One challenge is the color combo from My Favorite Things. Love the fall colors! I don't have the exact colors but I went as close as I could.

The other challenge I had in mind was CASe this Sketch

All stamps and inks used are from Close to my Heart, and yes this is the same stamp set form the kit that I used here and here. I'm loving this set! I also have another ides for the sketch planned out, so I'm hoping that I can get it done and posted... maybe today... ? Only time will tell.

As for time I need to go add some chocolate icing to the cupcakes. Not many kids like the cupcake with out it. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful and crafty day!

Thankful for you

Hello and happy Friday! Hope this finds everyone getting ready for the weekend. My weekend will be spent at work, so goes the life of working retail! :-)  My card today was inspired by a technique I saw Catherine Pooler do in combination with a sketch and the challenge on Simon Says Stamp.

I have seen CP (Catherine Pooler) recently use a stencil to selectivly add color on a card, where the color is more intense in the middle and fading out to the sides. I thought I'd give it try since I like the look and makes great background for a simple card. I used the sketch from CASE this sketch.

Once I was done with the back ground and added my sentiment, I felt that the card needed a little some thing else. I had some little wooden butterflies that I hadn't used in awhile. I colored one with some orange stickles and will include this on the CASology blog as well.

I used a mini Heidi Swapp stencil with Spiced Marmalade distress. The sentiment is from on of the new Close to my Heart Card Kits and I stamped it using Memento Luxe in Rich Cocoa.

Thanks as always for stopping by! Have a great weekend everyone!
