Cup of joy

I'm stopping in with my last card for the Warm and Cozy Challenge over at the Die Cut Diva's. A huge thank  you to our sponsors Bugaboo and One Happy Cut!

I printed my image and colored it in with some distress markers. I then took a circle die to cut out a focal point. I adhered the colored panel without the circle to my card base. I added the die cut circle with some foam adhesive to give a little dimension to card.

You can see it a little better in this picture...

Thank you for stopping by and have a Happy New Year!

Jingle gift card holders

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas with family and friends!!! I know everyone is probably tired of seeing Christmas projects and cards but I have one more to share. I had a couple of gifts cards to give to some friends, so I made these little gift card holders.

I started with a treat bag, a doily and die cut circle with my sentiment stamped on it.I folded the bag (#1) and adhered it to the front (#2) and to cover the seam it made I then wrapped a peice of cardstock around it (#3). I did add a little adhesive behind the red band to help it stay in place.

Once the bag was done I adhered my circle and doily to the front. Used a glue dot to attach the bow with the bells tied on. Cut a panel to size for the insert. The gift card fits just behind the sentiment panel.

I love how these turned out. I think they are cute and were fun and easy to make. Guess I have a new favorite way to give a gift card!

Joy of Christmas...

Hello everybody! I can't believe we are just 4 days away from Christmas!!! I'm sure the rest of you are all ready with all the gifts wrapped and cards done, right! I know I'm not there yet... with packing and preparing the house to be put on the market, I've fallen a little behind, but I won't let squash my spirit! I think I'm annoying some of my coworkers since most of them are on the count down for the season to be over and the store to go some what back to normal. I call the scrooges when the scowl at me signing along with the Christmas songs! ;-)

On to my card which of course is what you came by to see!

I stamped the image and sentiment on some watercolor paper. Then using some distress markers and a (re used) wink of stella, I colored it in. (If you are wondering what I mean by reused wink of stella... I filled the barrel with water once the original liquid ran dry.) It does double duty as it leaves tons of shimmer while I watercolor the image! Which you can see better in the image below.

I ran a white panel through my cuttlebug and adhered it to the card base, before adding the colored panel. I felt it needed just a bit more sparkle so I added a few die cut glitter snowflakes.

Be sure to stop by and play along with our challenge over at Die Cut Diva's! We would love to see what you make and you then have a chance to win one of two prizes this month!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season!!!

Thinking of you at Christmas...

I dropping by with a card I made to add to Julie's sketch challenge. It's one of the 10 sketches she has prepared in her pocket sketch book. I love a good sketch for inspiration when I seem to misplace my crafty mojo!

Here is the sketch she used with measurements!!!

You should visit her blog here for a better look and to play along. She is giving away a free sketch book to one participant.

For my card I picked some papers from an older Stampin' Up paper pad I've had in my stash. I stamped my scene on the banner and added some glitter for snow. I used a stamped and punched snowflake with a half pearl instead of a button.

I hope she likes it! I will also add this to Simon Says stamps Holly Jolly stamping challenge
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Warm Christmas Wishes

Today I'm sharing a card for the December warm and cozy challenge over a the Die Cut Diva's. Hop over the the blog to play along for a chance to win one of two prizes. One Happy Cut is giving a $15 gift certificate and Bugaboo is offering 7 free digi images ( winners choice).

My card...

I printed and colored the image using copics. Die cut the word wishes using a Sizzix/Tim Holtz thinlet die. Stamped my sentiment on the die cut panel and adhered wishes. After I adhered the panels to the cardbase, I added glossy accents to the ornaments, berries and candy cane. To add an extra touch to the card I tucked a few snowflakes under the colored panel.

Here is a closer look at the glossy accents

Nativity Silhouette

Today's post is a quick one. I made it the other day and keep forgetting to get it posted and I want to link to a couple of challenges.

I started by added blending distress inks on the cardstock for my background, which is one my favorite things to do! Once that was done I die cut the nativity and ground out of black cardstock. To turn my star white I used my Picket Fence distress marker to color it. I added all my die cuts to the base of the card and then stamped my sentiment in white. I also added some stickles to the star to give some sparkle.

You can see the stickles a little better in the close up...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
