SID- nov sketch- Winter Wonderland

Today I have a card for the Nov sketch (scene above) for the Stick It Down challenge. Here is my card based on the sketch.

My son "bought" me the glitter in his class store so I made sure to use it on my card. Absolutely love the color he chose for me and all the sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you play along with us over at Stick it Down!

Christmas Showcase with Joy Clair

Today is a special post at the Joy Clair blog ... it's all about Christmas and we are all showcasing newer Christmas products from Joy Clair. For my card I used Penguin Tropical Christmas and Christmas Lights Background.

I started by stamping the lights on one layer and my tree with some lights on it on my main panel. I then stamped the palms and coconuts on a scrap piece before coloring them copics..

I then colored the tree on my main panel and used a pen to darken my light strings. Then stamped the penguin and his shorts. I did color the lights red although I don't show it in this picture. Once everything was colored I then fussy cut all the palms and coconuts from the scrap.

After I stamped my sentiment I began layering all the palm on my tree. I used liquid glue at the base and foam tape towards the top to create some dimension on the tree. For the coconuts I glued the first on flat while popping the last two on with foam tape.

After I adhered the light background to the cardbase I used some stickles to add some sparkle, once they were dry I added the rest of my layers. I didn't feel the background lights gave it enough Christmas Sparkle so added some red stickles to the lights on the front of my card and called it done!

Be sure to check out what my teammates have made for the event at the blog here. Thanks as always for stopping by and have a great day!

Merry Little Christmas #4

This card is for the Merry Little Christmas challenge blog. I mix and matched companies on todays card, I just love it when I use older products from my stash with newer.

I really wanted to use the new embossing folder from Stampin' Up, so I had grabbed a scrap just to see how it looked, then decided to use it on my card. I paired it with some Stitched snowflakes, plaid paper and an older die from Stampin' Up.

If you like Christmas cards my first post of the day here is also along the same theme, and I will have another Christmas card posted tomorrow if you would like to come back by for a visit! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

NOV JC challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Joy Clair blog! Love this months inspiration. I was drawn to the mug on the bottom right with the white on white look and the peppermints! I love to add a little candy cane to my hot cocoa so that is what I decided to base my card of off to fit the theme.

Image may contain: food and indoor

I picked some pattern papers that would fit the theme I was going for and used a sketch I found flipping through an old magazine that I have. I used an older Joy Clair set called Christmas Cocoa. I stamped my mug, snowflakes (with some masking) and marshmallows with Versamark and heat embossed it with Pearl embossing powder. I then stamped the candy cane with Rockin' Red and embossed with the same embossing powder.

I cut out the marshmallow and candy cane. I adhered all of my layers, adding the twine and attaching my cut elements to finish my card.

I hope you stop by the Joy Clair blog to see what my teammates created based on the inspiration photo and to play along for your chance to win! Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment or follow me for blog updates! Have a great day!
