Hello, I'm Monica and today I thought was a good day to start my own blog!
A few months ago my mom, myself and some friends decided to start our own card challenge. Every 2 weeks one of us in the group picks a challenge for us to work on. Thought it would be a fun for us to use old items, try new techniques or just to do something different. This is also about the time I starting thinking of doing a blog and sharing what we do. So on to my first card....
Today for the post I'm actually starting with Challenge #16: It is to make a Christmas card not using any of the traditional colors. So that meant no reds, greens, whites, blues, silvers or golds. The "creator" of the challenge even said I couldn't use creams!!! (Sigh) We really weren't left with any Christmas colors. I decided to use a kraft card base, emboss a silhouette Christmas tree on a distressed (purple and orange) sky back ground.
Supplies:
Kraft card base- Recollections
Black cardstock and Black embossing powder
Tim Holtz Distress ink: Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves
Stamps: Tree, Greeting (Lawn Fawns Ornate Ornaments)
Bling: TPC Studio
Thanks stopping by. Feel free to play along. I love to see the different takes on the challenges!
I've come all the way back to the beginning to get to know you better, Monica, and I have to say I love the premise for the start of your blog! How fun that you guys challenged yourselves! And your nontraditional Christmas card, my goodness! It is outstanding with that brilliantly sponged sky!! Hugs, Darnell
