You rule/rock back to school

Today I made a very clean and simple card. My two oldest start school tomorrow and I wanted them both to have a card from me since I will be at work when they go. My oldest will get the card I made for a lawnscaping challenge, you can see it here. This one will go to my second grader. ( I love puns, my kids don't stand a chance!) I will be adding the cared to the Simon says Monday challenge, the theme is anything goes.

I used copics to draw and color the rock and the ruler was an embellishment that I received in a Simon says stamp kit. Just stuck them on some white cardstock and hand drew the speech bubbles and sentiments, then called it done. Not much to it.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Monica,

Just wanted to post a quick comment to let you know that your sentiment made me laugh out loud. :D What are greeting cards for, if not a make someone smile, right?! So cute! Good luck with back to school.

  2. This card is so wonderfully witty! I, too, enjoy a good pun and this is not only a good pun, but it's a great piece of whimsical art as well! What a clever use of the ruler and you did a fantastic job of drawing and coloring that rock. LOVE this and it inspires me to incorporate my own drawings into my artwork more often. Thank you so much for sharing this delightful card with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
